Bill shock and frustration
So my contract expired not long ago, within the last few months, during a very difficult time in my life. I received no heads up about this, not a text, bringing me back to a time in the distan...
Until Telus support gets here. I can confirm that we all agree to a contract. The term may be different, mine was 2 years. You can get a copy at your account My Telus.
Small print, if you do not redo the terms before expiry you go onto the monthly rate which does not have any of the credits you enjoyed during your contract. Check it. The monthly rate is a holding place for you to decide to go somewhere else or contact Telus for a new contract.
Now you need to contact Telus customer service and renegotiate a new contract. Maybe a PM here to Telus Support. TELUS_Support
Yes. I know this. And with every other provider, even Telus when I was with them previously, would reach out when the contract was near expiry.
I’m sorry that we have a clear difference in opinion on how stuff like this should be handled. I don’t think there’s a lot of consumer benefit to having a contract roll off with no desire to reach out to follow up. We all have 300,000 subscriptions to literally everything, as by design, and the fact that my bill can literally DOUBLE because of that is a bit of a crappy move.
it’s a stupid system and at least Shaw would reach out before I was presented with a bill that equals the car insurance payment of an 18 year old.
also I posted her directly because a) I wanted it on record, b) to give others a reference point, c) because that seems a way to actually get someone from Telus support to reach out and honestly because I’m really really annoyed about the situation. I’ve been with Telus off and on for the last almost 3 decades. I expected better.
oh and also thanks to the recent hack I had a hell of a time trying to even get into my Telus account and life decided it also had different plans for me, so following up on a contract renewal was not number one with a bullet for me.
