Connection fee?!

I've called to change my phone plan as it was cheaper and they said they can do it but it'll charge 15$.

I then asked I also wanted a tablet and to connect it with my current phone data plan, and they waived the 15$ and the connection fee for the tablet.

BUT... after the phone call, I got an email saying the connection fee is 70$ and NOT WAIVED.

I could've honestly just bought a tablet IN STORE FROM SAMSUNG for 318$ rather than from TELUS for 450$, PLUS a connection fee ($70) and went with another provider for data.
