Home phone keeps dropping calls

Recently our home phone has been dropping calls. We are in the middle of a call and the phone drops the call. This  has happened at least 6 times now.Telus says it because there was an outage in our area a few days ago but it is still happening. Surely this requires a tech visit??/

  • I really want Telus to come to the home because the phones are relatively new Panasonics. We have plugged a corded phone in to see what happens. In addition they are now saying that there was an outage in the neighborhood a few days ago. Before i go to the expense of a new phone, I would like a tech visit

That'd need to be done directly with our Tech Support team. Feel free to send us a private message if you'd like us to connect you.

  • We had the same problem for months.  Had a tech on the phone having me trying all kinds of stuff and he said that the problem is not with the phone line because plugging a phone directly into the ONT worked perfectly fine.  I replaced the home phones with the 5 handset Panasonic KX-TG175C from Costco and it fixed the problem.

Thanks I have done all the troubleshooting tips - and this has not solved the problem - a second call to Telus has said the outage may have affected us but that was almost six days ago and the outage MAY not have been fully resolved as yet - this  is ridiculous. I think I need to get to come to the house but they say it would be charge to me if it is my phones - but it can't be as I have done all the troubleshooting

A tech visit would probably be the best option if you've confirmed that the problem is with the connection itself.
