Cloud PVR
I just hooked up the new cloud PVR box. A couple of questions on capability:
- I set up a program to record once a day. It records several recordings in a day and I see no way to change this? I wind up with 27 recordings at the end of a week!
- There is no ability to extend recordings which can be problematic when it comes to sports. Is this feature coming?
- You can’t seem to be able to delete the program you are watching without going back to all recordings and then deleting. The recorded show continues to play even after deleting. Seems very clugy!

When you choose a “record once a day” setting, the Cloud PVR will create a separate recording file for every airing of that program. That’s why you’re seeing many recordings over the week, it’s working as designed. If your intent is to only record one specific airing (for example, the 8:00 PM broadcast), you’ll want to select the specific time slot you want to record and avoid the generic “record daily” option. Your feedback about adding an “extend recording” feature has been passed along to the product team for consideration in future updates. Right now, the system doesn’t allow you to delete the program directly from the playback screen Instead, recordings must be removed from the Recordings list, and even then the video may continue playing until you exit playback, this is expected behaviour with the current interface. It’s feedback we’ve shared with the UX team for simplification in future UI releases.

On the past Telus PVR if I wanted to record the National News every day at 7PM, I could set that up and would only have 1 recording per day. This seems like basic functionality that has been removed in the cloud PVR which I suggest is a miss by the design team. Can this also be added to the wish list for the next release?

Thank you for taking the time to share this feedback. I will be passing your suggestion along to our product and design teams for consideration in a future release.

Some of these issues have been around since the cloud pvr came out three years ago, and are being worked on.
