bad signal
16 Topics“Persistent TELUS Mobility Signal & Network Issues on 3 Lines – Looking for a Resolution”
I have been a TELUS Mobility customer with three mobile lines, and my monthly bill is approximately $400. Unfortunately, for quite some time I have been experiencing persistent weak signal and unreliable network service, including in regular city areas. This is not an occasional issue in a remote location. The weak signal and connectivity problems happen frequently and are affecting the normal use of our mobile services. I have already contacted TELUS customer service and raised a complaint, but so far I have not received a satisfactory solution. During one conversation, a representative told me that TELUS cannot guarantee service everywhere. I completely understand that no mobile provider can guarantee perfect coverage at every single location. However, I don't believe persistent weak service in normal city areas should simply be treated as something a customer has to accept, especially when it affects multiple lines over a long period of time. TELUS offered approximately $300 as a bill credit, which I appreciate, but my main concern is not the credit. I need reliable mobile service for the three lines I am paying for. I would like to know: Has anyone else experienced persistent TELUS signal or network problems in city areas? Were you able to get TELUS technical/network support to investigate the issue properly? If TELUS cannot provide reliable service, what options are available for customers who need to move their lines to another provider? I would appreciate it if a TELUS Community moderator or support representative could advise me on the appropriate escalation process. I would prefer to resolve the issue directly with TELUS. Thank you.176Views0likes9CommentsVery poor 5G service
My partner and I are both on 5G EPP plans and are experiencing poor 5G data service. We have been on both Koodo and Public Mobile for years and it has never been this bad, which makes no sense since it's the same network. We are both using Samsung Galaxy S23FE devices with physical sim cards, on the newest version of Android. We have reset network settings on both devices and that has not helped. 5G preferred is selected. We are located in Kingston, Ontario. Hoping someone at Telus support knows what they're doing and can help us out here. I don't need entry level "have you tried rebooting the device?" type of help, I need proper support, because otherwise as soon as the Rogers RPP deal that I'm looking for is available, we will jump ship. Rogers service in the past has been exceptional in comparison.187Views0likes2CommentsMobility Phone Issues
Anyone who can suggest how to work with telus. I have been having issues since Sep 7 running my mobile phone for a business and the service is really poor. They said they opened a ticket and it could take two weeks. I waited the two weeks and they still haven’t solved the issue. They say they called but no left message or email. If my phone is not accepting calls or call outs how can I get this resolved. I have resorted to using my computer for calls but this isn’t the solution for a business. I don’t think their overseas call centres are equipped to handle business issues. any help or suggestions would be great.972Views0likes16CommentsMobility Account Issues
On January 27th I received a promotional email from Telus for more data on a 5G postpaid plan, and a Pixel 10 on a 2 year payment plan. On January 31st I called Telus to inquire about whether I qualified or was eligible for the promotion and I was told yes I was. So while on the phone with that same person we began switching my provider to Telus. 4 days later after having been through the following (1) No cell service for over 3 days, and needing to find alternatives to legal and personal texts. (2) No follow up email after getting disconnected during the set up call. (3) Still not able to receive emails from Telus at either my Protonmail or Gmail, and talking to technical support about it yielding no solution. (4) Being told to wait longer for service when that wasn't the issue at all. It was an Esim issue on Telus's end. (5) Hours spent on the phone. Needing someone to babysit my 1 year old so I can get service. I understand that is not all Telus's fault, but when I just so happened to off-handedly mention my rate to a representative two days ago (because I can't seem to yet register for MyTelus), I was told I was paying more than the promotion indicated, and man that draws the line. I'm livid. After all of that and a week later, I get told that the promotion only lasted 1 day and now I don't qualify. The only reason I went through all that was because Telus sent me an email, I didn't go looking for some better deal, and I asked explicitly multiple times on the first call whether I qualified, and I was told yes. I even reiterated details of the deal. That's the only reason I switched. To experience this kind of dishonesty and deception and lack of integrity.. I don't know if I've ever been so angry and mistrusting of a business before. I don't even understand why pay a marketing department to piss people off. The whole point is to attract me as a customer with that deal. I'm baffled as much as I am upset. This is unacceptable.221Views0likes1CommentService interruption, billing for unusable service, failure to provide support access
Device repeatedly (for over a year+) displays “Not registered on network” despite showing full signal bars. During these periods, I was unable to make or receive calls, send texts, or use mobile data. In some instances, service degraded to “Emergency calls only.” Persisted after extensive troubleshooting, including: Device restarts, SIM removal /reinsertion / replacement, Network resets, Occurred despite TELUS denying any outage. I was unable to access customer support through my TELUS service during the outage and TELUS was unable to call me (calls would drop or go right to voicemail). Using TELUS chat their representatives repeatedly instructed me to perform device-level troubleshooting, despite clear evidence the issue was network-related. Despite these failures, TELUS continues to bill me for full service. I am being charged for a service that was not reliably provided. TELUS denied outages while service was demonstrably unavailable. Multiple devices were affected, indicating a systemic network failure. No proactive credits or meaningful resolution were offered. This goes beyond intermittent signal issues and represents a failure to provide reasonable access to essential mobile services. Contacted a lawyer for help and since this is a known issue with Telus, they advised to file complaint with Commission for Complaints for Telecom-television Services; they have an online complaint form for consumers with telecom complaints.399Views0likes4CommentsWest Vancouver weak signal
I live exactly 10 minutes from downtown Vancouver (when the Lions Gate bridge has no traffic) but there is almost no Telus mobility signal. Thousands of people are affected by this problem in West Vancouver. 80% of the time when we receive a call it goes to messaging. 100% of the time that we can connect, the connection is partly garbled or intermittent with long periods of silence, and 50% of the time the connection drops after a while. Many of us have land lines just because cellphone service up here does not work as required by law. I was told this is because the closest cell tower to the upper British Properties (Chartwell/Eyremount) neighborhood in West Vancouver is in Ambleside by the ocean, about 3.5 km away. I received a text from Telus today that said <<TELUS Msg: Valued Customer, our network in West Vancouver just got better. ... This investment in a new cell tower will mean fewer dropped calls, faster loading times and a more reliable connection in West Vancouver.>> When I clicked on the link provided (telus.com/sl/mPNaz5O9pJ), it gives a list of "cities with improved coverages", BUT West Vancouver is not one of them! What is the problem? Why is a cell tower missing in the first place? Why is Telus installing cell towers but ignoring thousands of customers in our neighbourhood only 10 minutes away from downtown Vancouver? Why does the text message imply a new cell tower but the list does not include West Vancouver?489Views0likes4CommentsNetwork losing texts?
Is anyone else experiencing the network not delivering some of their texts? I am finding that at least 1/3 of the texts I have been trying to send over the last nearly 3 weeks are not being delivered to their intended recipient. I have tried troubleshooting issues with the phone (it is a new samsung s25 so it shouldn't have hardware issues either), the SIM card, and confirmed I have no issues with my plan. The recipient is aware I am trying to text them, and if it wasn't for them checking back with me if I had responded I wouldn't know the texts had not been delivered because my phone is saying they are being delivered. I am in service areas and have access to wifi, but the problem persists, with it affecting both SMS and MMS messages. Does anyone have experience with something like this happening, and if so, does anyone have any advice on how to solve the issue?286Views0likes1CommentHas Anyone in the GTA had terrible reception lately? October 2025
About a month or so ago my cell phone that I have with Telus has slowed right down when it comes to my data connection, as well as the reception to make phone calls. I ALWAYS have 2 bars or less of service, most often one bar, and every so often it changes to emergency calls only. This happens whether I am outside, in my car, in my home, or at work. I have been reporting issues on the Telus coverage map frequently, but no improvement has been made. My phone is a Samsung S25, and friends of mine in the area that are also on Telus have been having the same issue. What gives?319Views0likes2Comments
