Re: Can't make or receive phone calls using Telus prepaid service
Yes, I did. After searching, I find the problem is the Honor X50i does not support all of the 4G bands offered by Telus, nor does it support the 5G bands at all. Solution is to buy a compatible phone to use the Telus service.1.2KViews0likes0CommentsCan't make or receive phone calls using Telus prepaid service
Recently I switched my mobility plan from Fido postpaid to Telus prepaid, but something strange happened: - I'm not able to make or receive phone calls, while I'm able to send or receive text messages, from my cell phone, Honor X50i (released in 2023). - I was able to make or receive phone calls as well as send or receive text messages from the same cell phone before switching to Telus prepaid service, using Fido postpaid service. - I inserted the Telus prepaid SIM card into a different cell phone, Huawei (released in 2016), and calling and text messaging functions work fine. - All settings remain the default, regardless of the SIM cards or cell phones used. I doubt my Honor X50i does not support some frequency bands of 5G or 4G networks Telus provides, but why does this phone have no problem using the Fido postpaid SIM card? Or the Telus prepaid service doesn't support all bands and I need to switch to the postpaid service instead? Can anyone tell me why?1.3KViews0likes2CommentsRe: Unstable Wi-Fi connection (never happened before)
Thanks for your reply. I reset the T1200H to original factory settings last night, and things seem to be back to normal. The Wi-Fi speed appears to be faster than before - at least for now. I will keep watching the situation. BTW, Will Telus charge me if I request for a new model of the modem/router when the device is working properly?2KViews0likes1CommentUnstable Wi-Fi connection (never happened before)
I have Internet 75 package. The Wi-Fi connection seems not stable recently. Most of time it's OK, but sometimes pretty slow. Link speed from my laptop (supporting Wi-Fi 6) varies between 11 Mbps and 144 Mbps, and drops to ~1000 kbps at times. Download speed can sometimes reach 5 Mbps, while occasionally drops to 10 kbps, or even fails to download altogether. I'm having the same problem with my cell phone. These are what I've done: (1) I restarted both the T1200H modem and ONT, but it doesn't seem to have made much difference. (2) I adjusted the angle of T1200H's antenna, but it doesn't seem to have made much difference, either. (3) I also used the troubleshooting tools Telus provides, and diagnostic results showed the "Device speeds" were slower than usual. Fix failed. In short, it can connect, but it's not stable. So anyone has idea what happened? And what should I do about it?2.1KViews0likes3Comments
