Re: Why is my Chrome account managed by telus.net?
Nighthawk wrote: If you set up Telus as IMAP, that would mean you are using a mail program like Outlook or Apple Mail to access your email. o Correct, I forgot to mention. I used imap in Outlook 2021. That is completely separate from your browser and won't affect how your browser accesses other Google services. o That is 1000% ABSOLUTELY INCORRECT. When I lost access, the Google message was that I had to contact the administrator to get access. Was advised that administrator was whoever gave me our Telus.net email addresses. I called Telus support and was hopeless to get an answer. Also there are posts here, and other websites, by Telus employees and others advising how to fix and of the same issue I am describing. And any fixes do not work. It all worked fine in the past but not on a 2021 MacBook Air or a MacMini 2023. I have read numerous other articles stating that the reason for this abnormality is because Telus did not buy the full Gmail Suite. And I am not techie enough to be able to confirm that, but I do see many other posts on same issue. Google maps returned when I set the email up as POP on Outlook. But made a mess in the Outlook. Now for an unnecessary Mickey Mouse work around …..sorry to say. If I had known or was advised of these issues I would have never migrated to the Telus Gmail. Without admitting this anomaly Telus support says they don’t support google maps and actually suggested that I use my other Gmail address. In my opinion the solution is…..fix it or ask Telus to advise all users of an acceptable work around or clearly state that the anomaly won’t be fixed. Then customers can move on accordingly. I’m at the point that I don’t care if I have at Telus.net email. My family just needs a stable email address that doesn’t impact on other workings of the computer. I just want to know what way to go and move on. If you are logging in to your Telus email through a browser, then you'll see that message. o If you say so. If you have a regular Gmail/Google account, make sure you are logged into that one first before logging in to the Telus.net email account. If you only have a Telus.net email, completely log out of it and you can get into other Google services such as Maps. o Why bother,,,,that’s a hassle. And how many non techies and elderly are going to be able to handle that?8.2KViews0likes1CommentRe: Wireless Home Phone ZTE MF273 Has No Messages but Telephone Set Says It Doe
ATGM8888 wrote: Hi. I am not delighted with some aspects of the Wireless Home Phone ZTE MF273, like the way it goes to busy when I dial some 1-800 numbers. I have the same, I think. Can’t find model number but has 2 duck bill looking antennas. This happens after the 1-800 number answers and plays its opening message and does not happen when I re-try the call on a regular cellular phone. I had no issues using one of Telus’s discounted branded sims. Have you tried to reseat SIM? Reboot the ZTE? Pull plug and remove battery. That sounds as if it is a known defect and, other than that, the MF273 works pretty well as long as I reset it every few months when it gets confused. I have rarely rebooted mine. And when I have … it’s because it isn’t connected to the network at all. I just set up voicemail on the Telus side, after an incoming call went to Telus voicemail when I was already on the line. I have cleared all the Telus voice messages but my telephone set still acts as though there is a message to be played - it plays the broken dial tone when I pick up the handset and the display on the phone reports "Voicemail msg. via phone co." How can I reset the ZTE MF273 Wireless Home Phone Unit so that my phone has its normal display and does not lie and indicate that there is a voicemail message? I use a Panasonic hand set and have set up for the Panasonic answering machine to kick in before the Telus side does. Then the Telus side works while the phone is in use. And have put the VM number on the Panasonic to speed dial. All works good for $15 a month. Thank you in advance.2KViews0likes0CommentsGoogle Maps - How to solve Organization Administrator issue - REVISITED
cpantelis @others First time here. I hope it is helpful to those who come up upon the same issues. After reading the original, now locked post, I discovered the same issues a few days ago. I have never had an issue up until last week on my older equipment. https://forum.telus.com/t5/Internet-Home-Phone/Google-Maps-How-to-solve-Organization-Administrator-issue/td-p/118414 Was there a different fix that was not posted?? I now have a 2023 MacMini M2 and a 2022 MacBook Air M2. And 2 relatively new iPads and some older iPhones. Running MS Office 2021 on the Macs and prefer to use the Outlook Client (LEGACY) for email. No problem with the MacBook but a problem on both of the users of the MacMini. My side quotes my @telus.net and other side quotes my wife's @telus.net as being the culprit. It's only an issue with the MacMini. I don't really understand why this is a customer issue. To me it is a Telus issue that needs to be fixed as the error points to the administrator that gave me the Telus.net email address. And that is Telus, is it not?** I can imagine how many customers out there don't bother fixing, don't know where the problem stems from or are not techie enough to fix it. And have read that some spent a lot of $ for an onsite tech and many hours on the phone somewhere other than with Telus support. ** Or is it a Telus issue that Gmail can put in a fix (for Telus Gmail Suite customers)? And just to mention, I have never been happy with the Telus.net email once it moved to the Gmail platform, so effort and time spent on my behalf was going to be minimal. Nevertheless, I proceed to do the recommended fix. Take note of your TELUS email address: [email protected] That was ok. Replace the @ sign with the % sign. You now have: example%telus.net This was ok. Enter that information in the username field and add @gtempaccount.com at the end to complete it, as shown in the image This did not take and where the Telus recommended solution ended for me. So at this point I had 3 ideas. ( I had no intention to contact Telus for support ) 1. Call Telus and have all my Telus emails and Aliases cancelled and move to another email option. 2. Delete the Telus emails in Outlook and Apple email clients and log off the Telus emails on the Gmail web page and then forward the Telus.net mail to another email account and advise every one to quit using my Telus.net email. <== Big job. Then later cancel all my Telus email accounts. 3. Logoff of Telus.net Gmail web page, delete all Telus.net email set ups off of 4 devices, go into the Telus.net Gmail settings and turn off IMAP and turn on POP and reenter them as POP accounts on the 4 devices x 2. Number 3 actually worked. I tested the Google Maps and the point of logging off on Gmail web page and deleted the Telus.net mails on the Outlook and Apple mail clients. I tested to confirm the POP settings worked and re-verified that the Google Map issue had disappeared. Here is a fantastic website for POP setting and Gmail. Thanks.3.8KViews1like2Comments
