Need help with custom AP setup
Hi there, I'm looking to switch out the Telus ISP provided routers to my own, specifically, the Unifi (ubiquiti) dream router 7. If anyone's curious, it's because of buffer bloat issues and wanting custom control. The problem is, my house is severely limited to Coax cables only and we barely have any sort of ethernet cables available. For Telus, I current have the main router, a boost mini and the NAH (NH20A). The boost mini runs on their provided moca converter. I was curious if this setup would work: Disable the boost mini, take the moca converter and move it to the area where coax would be and hook up another unifi AP. It would look something like this: [NAH] → [UniFi Router] → [Telus ISP Router (used as MoCA sender)] → Coax → [MoCA Adapter] → [UniFi AP] Thanks411Views0likes4CommentsRe: ASUS Router - Instant Guard Complaining no public IPV4 + PF Issues
Thanks for the reply. I've done what you have suggested and directly linked my ASUS to the 10G from modem. The speeds seem to be struggling as to before where ASUS was client of telus router. additionally, ipv6 addresses are not being assigned.3.6KViews0likes0CommentsASUS Router - Instant Guard Complaining no public IPV4 + PF Issues
Hey folks, I recently got a 1.5GBPS upgrade to my home and the TELUS team took away the 3200M and replaced it with the cylinder white ones that everyone has now. The problem is that before, the 3200M gave me a lot of control over my network and the new one - basically very little control. I have an ASUS router and here are the issues: Port forwarding doesn't forward anything, nothing connects (checked with a port opener). Instant Guard complains that I dont have a public IP address and that I need to contact my ISP for help. Every time I try the 'bridged mode' button, I get internet dropout, and really bad speeds. (Basically 30s on - 30s off repeating) Here are a couple things I've tried: Resetting modem and routers Asking the tech team that came to upgrade for help (they did nothing) Here is some information: Router: ZenWifi AX XT 8 LAN (on router): 192.168.50.1 (this doesn't seem right - not sure) WAN: 192.168.1.66 Firmware: 3.0.0.4.388_24621 I use IPV6 passthrough to TELUS.Solved3.7KViews0likes4CommentsRandom data dropouts
Hey Folks, Just recently joined Telus and my cellular data has random dropouts. This is happening in specific locations on 5G however, TOO many locations. This is really annoying because in my area I go for a walk 1) I randomly drop out with 30 seconds before reconnect 2) I’m forced to use LTE and manually waste time changing between 5G and LTE 3) It’s been 2 weeks. iPhone 13, iOS 17. Not a software issue. Clearly Telus.2.9KViews0likes2Comments
