BEWARE! This is the second time that I have been unwittingly and underhandedly registered for an unsolicited Telus Service Agreement (2-year contract), without my knowledge, request or consent.
I was randomly informed of this imposed Telus contract arrangement by a Telus Agent/Service Provider during an off-chance call about my service connection. I then insisted this scandal be escalated to a Supervisor, and 3-4 days later, the Supervisor promised to place a distinct note on file that I would not be charged any contract termination fees. He called back to confirm this was done. The Telus Supervisor lied!
In departing Canada due to a Trump Executive Order which terminated my USAID contract, a month ago, I requested closure of the account by 28 Feb, and reconfirmed with the call center agent that no penalties would be charged, as per the note. Nevertheless, I was: A. "Negative Billed" a whopping $603.21 in penalties; B. Charged a late payment penalty, even though the Agent promised to cancel this until the final bill/tally was issued to make final and complete payment; C. Was not even given the $60 credit referenced on my bill; and, D. Was charged for the month of March, despite the official cessation of services (done twice on the phone after 2-4 hours wait each time) at February-end.
Telus is remarkably dishonest, despite all the CRTC rules and protections, which Telus systematically disregards. Mr. Hayes, 1668 Davie Street, Vancouver BC, 236-880-8501; [email protected]. How do you fight this Telecom giant?
