There's three Optik boxes in the house, a PVR and two "remotes". The PVR is connected via Ethernet, the other two boxes are connected wirelessly.
For about a year, everything has been working perfectly.
But starting about three weeks ago, the recordings are not available on the remotes, with an error message indicating a connectivity problem. But there is no connectivity problem; the remotes can watch TV without difficulty.
And attempting to watch a recording on the PVR box itself results in .. aberrant .. behaviour. But the PVR itself works fine with live TV.
The fix is to reboot (or power cycle) the PVR box. For a while, it needed a reboot every couple of days. Now, it needs one daily.
I've added a programmable timer (that I normally use for my Christmas tree lights) to do the power cycling for me, in the middle of the night. But of course, that means that I can't record anything during that 5 minute window.
Does anyone else have this problem? If so, what did you do to fix it?

Definitely not the way things should work. Possibly an issue with your router.
I would suggest you follow these instructions to restart your router and Optik boxes:
