I brought this up before in a different thread but with all the recent channels being dropped ( and more coming on January 1st ) I really think it's time for Telus to adjust a lot of their theme packs. After January 1st there will be a lot of theme packs with only 3 channels and even a few with only 2 channels:
Favourite Film - no upcoming changes but still only has 3 channels
Laughs & Cheers - no upcoming changes but still only has 3 channels
Adrenaline - lost OLN back in September and will be losing Discovery Velocity on January 1st which will leave only 2 channels in this theme pack
Explore - losing Animal Planet on January 1st which will leave only 3 channels in this theme pack
World & Beyond - losing Discovery, Investigation Discovery and Discovery Science on January 1st which will leave only 2 channels in this theme pack
Now I'm not suggesting that every theme pack should have 10 channels in it but only having 2 or 3 channels is not right either. I know it's not possible to please all their customers but maybe it's time for Telus to look into moving around some channels into different theme packs.

I would have to assume they will eventually add the rebrands of those channels.

I hope so but they didn't keep OLN when it switched over to Bravo. That's why I would like to hear something from Telus since 7 channels are now scheduled to be removed from the Telus lineup on January 1st.

@BobArthur You've probably heard this before, and it still holds true, but only a select few within TELUS are privy to that information. Typically we don't release information until it's published to our site, which is to say most of us find out around the same time you do so please check back from time to time for any updates.

Hi there TELUS_Support ( if that is your real name 😉 ) - I realize that sometimes your department may already have the information we want but you are are not allowed to release until the appropriate time. Hopefully since Telus customers are losing quite a few channels on January 1st you will be able to give us a channel / theme pack update soon.

After spending 2 hours on hold yesterday, to hear the same canned response as above from a “Customer Care” agent, it is very disappointing. Unthinkable a corporation as big as Telus cannot or will not let customers know 2 days beforehand, they will not be losing channels…just a re-branding.
Tuesday
I imagine the customer service reps know about as much as we do, it's not their fault.

So it's now official - Telus will be keeping the rebranded USA Network, Oxygen, CTV Speed, CTV Nature and CTV Wild. Check out the December 31st update:

Agreed, the theme packs have less and less channels, shaw still has most of these channels, so why is Telus dropping them. Do not see the price going down.

So is USA a part of the World & Beyond package now? I'm trying to redo my theme packs and I can't even find Discovery or USA on here. Also a bunch of discontinued channels are still being mentioned in the theme packs. What a joke. I just want to know what I'm paying for. Also if we could get a list of Free Preview channels, because I swear I am subbed to channels that aren't in either my Essentials or theme packs I'm subscribed to but I always have them.
Wednesday
There must be a value $ assigned to each available channel inserted into theme packages. So why not assign that value and let me pick what I want to subscribe to. As I just found out today, I had occasional charges for Prime Time which only included one channel I may have been interested in, which was deleted.
When you get a theme pack, are all those included something you would have bought individually?
Wednesday
Maybe if we ask this enough times we'll finally get an answer.
When are the Theme Packs going to be updated with the new channels that were announced? Is Telus going to let us keep paying for hobbled theme packs until they decide to get things working properly?
Also, why are the channels/theme packs I subscribe to different between the web version of My Telus and the app? According to the app, I only have 3 of 4 theme packs. On the web, I have 4 theme packs, one of which only has 1 channel in it. Why do the channels I currently see on my actual box, different than what is actually listed on my bill?
It is such a mess. As a communication company, Telus should be better.
