I've been with Telus for 7 years. Recently, my internet connection became real slow (50-60 mbps) and I'm paying for 150. So I called Telus and after 2.5 hours I was told to buy a Wi Fi + service because there are dead zones in my condo which didn't exist six months ago.
I really don't like coercion so in the near future I will part ways with this company.
I post it so other TELUS customers can be aware of this ... tactic.

You may have reached sales instead of support. It very well could be a problem with the router you have currently. It could also be the wireless channels being used. In condos there are a lot of networks in close proximity. I can see at least 50 in the list of in range networks for my condo building. If too many are on the same frequency as your network, that can impact the speeds you will get. Changing the wireless frequency is a good first step. Make sure the router isn't shoved in a corner somewhere where it's obstructed. There is also a small chance it's a hardware issue with the router itself.
If you have any devices connected to the router by ethernet, do they get the full speed for your connection?

This^^^ and download a Wi-Fi analyzer app and see which channels are the most congested in your area. Pick a non- congested channel and play with different bandwidths. Have you tried rebooting your modem/router and reconnecting your devices? That sometimes fixes slow speeds. Also call Telus and speak to their loyalty dept. I was on 150 before and they gave me a free upgrade to 300 (not on 300 anymore).
