How to get latest hardware… maybe

emcee2

We’re nearing the end of a very long renovation.  The house has been wired with new cable. There’s a line running to the garage.
Our Actiontec router and the Optik TV PVR etc have not been hooked up for over a year. the Nokia Fibre box has been in use in order to keep the alarm system happy. The alarm system is so old it needs to be trashed, but anyway…
I would like to end up with 3 or possibly 4 wireless networks (ours, guest, rental suite, iOT devices) and chatGPT tells me the Actiontec is not capable. It has been suggested to me I should get 3 access points to cover the main, rental and garage/outside. Presumably then I need to either run them off some POE switch from the Actiontec, or get some other new router direct to the Nokia fiber box.

or is there some new Telus supplied hardware that I should be getting an upgrade to that can offer multiple networks, and mesh to the garage?

oh, and we have Iotik TV just to complicate things.

not even sure where to pick back up at this point…

Hey @emcee2 you are definitely asking a complicated question that would be best answered by someone who has done what you are describing.

We can confirm that our routers have guest-network capabilities but for your use case it might not be enough.
