Telus ADT Door to door - scam?
Yesterday a guy in a yellow Telus vest with a Telus ID came to the door selling ADT home security. He asked a bunch of questions about our current home security. I’m in Ontario and am just looking for...

Hello. With proper identification, it does definitely sound legitimate, but if you'd like I could double check with our team that we were in the area on Friday. Let me know, thanks.
- 3 years agoHi. I had this occur to me today as well (June 30) in Burlington. He was wearing a Telus golf shirt, but no ID card. Read something stating he was with “Inios” or “Eneos” (not sure of the spelling) on behalf of Telus. Offered savings and discounts that appeared almost too good to be true. Anyway to verify the authenticity?

He offered to pay the remaining balances on the cost of two of our cell phones which totalled nearly $600 in addition to cutting our monthly cell phone bills by over 50%. After I asked if I would be billed directly by Cogeco for the television deal he offered (as Telus doesn’t offer television packages), he said it would be billed by a 3rd party company which was also shady.
The other sketchy party was that he wasn’t willing to provide any fine print or written agreement until after I agreed to sign up.
I would recommend you never agree during an initial offer and take time to think about the details. If they tell you it’s only valid for the day they’re there, pass. I ended up telling him I wasn’t interested. - Nighthawk3 years ago

The only place I've seen Eneos in the past is in Japan. It's the name of an oil company and I remember seeing the Eneos branded gas stations over there. Eneos oil is sold in Canada apparently but I've never heard of it in connection with Telus.
