Need someone to help cancel my home security account

The home security contract connected to my house ended its five year contract at the end of August. It is in my husband‘s name who set up the account but payments have been taken from my bank account. We separated a few years ago and he is now no longer in Canada. I allowed the contract to continue to the end of its five years but now after several phone calls to customer service and at one stage even been told to go into my local Telus store with a copy of the contract and they will be happy to cancel it for me turned out to be a waste of my time and energy.  I’m extremely frustrated, mentally exhausted and desperately want somebody to just listen to my predicament and help.  I am still being billed each month even though at the time when the representative knocked on our door,  came into into our house and sold the security system from ADT he advised that unless we chose to renew we would just have to return the equipment. I cannot even get that far and one customer service suggested that they probably would not want it back because it’s an old ADT system and tried to sell me a new contract. 
what else can I do?
