Using a VPN
Should you use the VPN all the time y or n
It's complicated but the quick answer, for me, is no.

Not all VPN services are created equal and some will significantly slow your internet connection. The only time I've used VPN is when it's required to work remotely.

At home or cellular I generally don't.
I use a VPN
- when I'm on public wifi... unless it's super slow.
- when I'm region switching to catch up on CW shows I forget to record.

FuzzyLogic Nighthawk Thanks guys we are not heavy users of the internet mail pay monthly bills the odd order. Will use the vpn when doing payments and money transfers etc and a download if need be

No need to use VPN for those. Your connection at home between your computer and Telus is secure.

I find any VPN I use always restricts the speed of my connection. I'm on gigabit fibre and most VPN servers I've tried only offer a fraction of the speed. If I'm travelling and using hotel or public wifi, I'm definitely using a VPN then.
