Telus refused to install fibre network to my house

Hi just talked to a Telus sales rep, and I was told that there is a note under my address that fibre will not be installed at my address due to high cost.

Just wondering, is there anything you can do? Feel weird that Telus will refuse a new customer just due to the cost of initial installation. I can't imagine how expensive it will be to extend the fibre from neighbor to my house. Thanks.

  • I have overhead fibre. I can see that Telus is not doing underground, at least not digging to do so. In underground services there is a conduit installed by owner/developer. But they should be explaining this to you

  • It think my neighbor had telus fibre installed 2 years ago, so there is a connection point just in front of his house. And the installation include dig from my neighbor's house though my drive way, and then go though a L shape, connect to my house. about 20 feet on each side of the "L" shape. I guess the higher cost part is about dig cross my drive way.   That's the only thing I can think of compare to my neighbor.

  • Is fibre at the street in front of your house? If yes then how far is your house from road?
