Process for fibre drop
I live in a 5 unit townhouse and there is fibre on the poles in the alley. I’m on the board executive and can speak for the owners.
What’s the right process to have the fibre dropped to the building? I’ve tried Telus.com/stratafibre but it just says “something went wrong”.
I’ve tried https://www.telus.com/en/internet/fibre/new/get-connected-forms/mdu?INTCMP=purefibre_mdu_get_started
It accepts the input but i don’t get a confirmation email and it has been 3 weeks with no contact. It feels like it went no where at this point.
Thank you,
Mitch

Mitch-G Suggest you get all owners there to agree to have fiber. I there is no conduits to each unit i don't think telus can run the fiber. It may be owners that have to pay to have someone to install the fiber. With telus doing the final hookups. Telus used to wire houses a long time ago now just go to a demarcation box on the outside of the house.
- Mitch-GNeighbourThanks for the quick answer. There’s no box/fibre on the building yet. That’s the thing I need Telus to run. I can see the splice box on the pole like 15 feet away. I have consensus to move ahead with this but Telus makes it really hard.

As someone who has gone through the MDU fibre install process, though for a much much larger building, it can take some time. It may not hurt to re-submit the form. It's not always as simple as attaching a demarcation box to the building and running a fibre to it. Telus would have to send someone out to assess the building and determine the best way to get fibre run in. For my building, they also installed a fair number of pieces of fibre hardware in the various electrical rooms before running individual fibres to each unit. All at no cost to the building.
