You must set up your Canon printer on your local WIFI network. This is your issue. If set up correctly, It will join your network and stay joined. There are no drivers to install. The drivers are BUILT IN to Mac OS. Your issue is getting your printer set up and joined to your wifi network.
If you can get that worked out, the Mac will automatically find the printer on the network and configure it for printing, scanning etc.
