The "Access Scheduling" tool is essentially a user-friendly wrapper for firewall rules. If you want a total, permanent block that doesn't rely on a timer, you have two cleaner options:
The Telus Connect App (Easiest): If you use the Telus Connect app (formerly My Wi-Fi), you can simply find the device in the list and hit the "Pause" button. Unlike the scheduling tool in the web interface, this is an "indefinite pause." It stays blocked until you manually unpause it.
MAC Filtering (The "Hard" Block): In the router's advanced web interface (usually 192.168.1.254), look for MAC Filtering under the Advanced Setup or Security tab.
Set the mode to Blacklist (or "Deny").
Add the MAC address of your IoT device.
This blocks the device at the hardware level from communicating with the router entirely, which is more robust than just a web-access schedule.
