totally agree.  if i wanted a gmail i would get one, now we are forced into it by telus.

They will not give me a good answer as to why I am paying $8/mo for my telus email now that it is really gmail.  no choice in this sucks.

    Just for the address, I live in a rural area, internet access, phone, satellite tv are all separate telus bills.

    Telus offers the ability to retain one's Telus email address (for a fee) while not being a Telus customer. It is especially handy for folks who move to a location where Telus does not provide internet services, but the individual has their Telus email assigned to a bunch of services.
