Alarm system

Panel says door is locked but the actual doorlock is unlocked

    There are a few things to check when this occurs:

     

    - open your door and while holding it open, lock/unlock it using the TELUS SmartHome app. If it works perfectly while the door's physically open, your strike plate may be out of alignment.

    - try a power cycle - remove the battery from the lock unit for 30 seconds, then pop them back in. See if that refreshes the status and stops the error.

    - check for jamming - make sure there's no dust/debris where the bolt enters the frame. Yes, this is highly unlikely to cause an issue but always good to check that some dust or dirt, etc. isn't causing the sensor to send a 'locked' signal to the UI.
