Update: So after day one of disaster, I had regular internet no static ip. Tech says he'll try again tomorrow.
Then day two, he tells me he'll come by in the evening. Around 3Pm i get a text from him saying he'll be here 4:30. I respond thirty minutes later. Turns out that he's already passed my city, and will have to come the next day.
So DAY THREE comes. Send him a text 7 am to confirm when he will come. He says 8:30. Shows up on time and we try to get the static ip again.
We spend about 3 hours trying to make it work. After the first 2 hours we finally get the gateway to ping, but no internet access. The backend support finally says we'll try the final option they have. It required a new NAH so he replaced my NAH with what LOOKED like the same thing, but was a Technicolor nah instead of the arcadyan that i originally had. Within 10 minutes the static IP was up and running in the 10G port!
I setup my router and connected my pc and wifi to the router, which obviously is connected from the 10g port with the static ip. Public IP shows the static ip and everything works well. The only issue I'm having are with specific websites and applications. General use stuff like google, this forum, email youtube all work perfectly.
BUT, these specific applications and websites either dont work or take really long time to load. I did some research and apparently it evens out after about 24 hours of setting up the static IP.
Will post another update.
