Funny experience on installation day.
What should've been a 5 minute job ended up a nightmare of 6 hours, and majority of that time with no internet whatsoever.
Technician came, logged into my NAH and set the static ip. No luck. After that he tried to set everything back to normal so we can start from scratch. After resetting the modem back to normal, the regular DHCP internet stopped working.
Tech called the backend and backend took their sweet time, sweet sweet time, while asking us to do basic troubleshooting. They asked things like "have you tried rebooting? have you changed the NAH?"
They kept trying to change things, with no luck. After that they decided that he should go to the box where the local fibre is located, and check the connection there.
So tech says peace out and that he'll be back once he checks the box. Turns out that he put my connection on a different line, so now he's on the phone with backend activating my internet to this new line that he put it on.
After about 4 hours of trying to get my regular internet to work, changing absolutely everything including the NAH, SFP, line that my internet comes through, we conclude that its not going to work.
He then says that 5 other people in my area have this issue, so I will have to live without internet until the backend fixes this "unknown problem". So he leaves for another job and says he'll call me.
Around 2 hours later he calls me and asks if the internet is back, and right as he said that it came back to normal.
So 6 hours into what should've been a 5 minute job, i finally have my regular internet back. But no static IP.
He then offers to turn on the static IP for me remotely, and gives me instructions to activate it on my end.
We do everything, wait for the backend to "clear up bindings", couple more tries, reboots and waiting for clearing even "more bindings", and no luck. Static IP doesnt connect to the internet.
