Business Internet Captive Portal Hijack
I recently had my services set up and any outbound connection on port 80 is redirected to https://order.fibre.telus.com. All other traffic seems to be unaffected but this causes my devices to think they need to log in to the network.
Here is an example of it working as expected with HTTPS (port 443):
~ ❱ curl -4 https://icanhazip.com
75.158.x.xThis is an example where it is redirecting requests to port 80:
~ ❱ curl -4 http://icanhazip.com
~ ❱ curl -4 -v http://icanhazip.com
* Host icanhazip.com:80 was resolved.
* IPv6: (none)
* IPv4: 104.16.185.241, 104.16.184.241
* Trying 104.16.185.241:80...
* Connected to icanhazip.com (104.16.185.241) port 80
* using HTTP/1.x
> GET / HTTP/1.1
> Host: icanhazip.com
> User-Agent: curl/8.14.1
> Accept: */*
>
* Request completely sent off
< HTTP/1.1 307 Temporary redirect
< Location: https://order.fibre.telus.com
< Content-Length: 0
< Content-Type: text/html
<
* Connection #0 to host icanhazip.com left intactIs anyone else seeing this as well? I've tried reaching out to support multiple times and the reps don't seem to have any understanding of this, or much outside of basic troubleshooting
Update. A tech was sent out even though there was nothing that he could do. After a couple hours on the phone with his support they found a provisioning issue and were able to resolve it
