IKEA Matter over thread devices

I would like to be able to use some of the new IKEA smart home products, but it looks like the Telus router might be making this difficult. I am running an open thread border router on home assistant. I have been through all the setup and hardware configuration for the thread network, and have tried all the software and router troubleshooting suggestions I can find in online communities. The problem seems to come down to the inability to enable multicast settings on the Telus router, which seem to be hidden as a provisioning precaution for the Optic TV service. I am not an optic TV user, so those precautions don't apply to me. Can Telus make the adjustments to enable multicast on my router? If not is there another router option that I can use that will allow multicast?

One router configuration I've not yet fully tested is to use the smart device network segment on the Telus router. I've tried enabling this but I'm unable to join that network on my provisioning device as it remains hidden from Wi-Fi detection, and I cannot seem to add it to my device  manually.

Thanks

I'm not sure what router you have but on the T3200M I believe it doesn't broadcast the SSID. You will need the information that is displayed for the SSID and Password when you enable the Smart Device function to connect your devices.

Additionaly my understanding is that this is 2.4GHz only.

Thanks for the reply and for the inspiration to keep trying! I managed to get a provisioning phone on the router's smart device network. Unfortunately, the IKEA device commissioning process is still hanging on the step of connecting to the thread network. The fact that there are no logs indicating what's happening on the open thread border router suggest that the router is not permitting the connection. I can't confirm this because these new Telus routers do not allow me to view its logs.

2.4 GHz is not a problem as these devices use that frequency exclusively, afaik. It's access to multicast that seems to be the issue.
