Telus Promotion Team

Got a call from The "Promotion" team in Telus, offered me a brand new Samsung S25 for only $35 a month. I refused to give my personal information over the phone so they had me go to the Telus store and buy the phone plus plan from there and he said he would adjust it once it's been done. I gave him the order ID starting with TD*****.

I then got an email from [email protected]

Stupid me thinking this was an amazing deal fell for this but was clearly blind-sided by a good offer.

How do I cancel this order ?

Only information I gave them was my address and email... how badly will I be compromised ?

Hi there, thank you for reaching out and we’re really sorry this happened. Unfortunately, this sounds like a scam. That email address is not affiliated with TELUS, and our team would never ask you to complete an order in-store based on a third-party phone call or email offer. Here’s what to do right away:

    1. Do not reply to any further emails or calls from this "promotion team."
    2. Contact our team immediately by calling 1-866-558-2273.
    3. If you purchased a device or provided any financial information at the store based on this scam, please visit that store right away and explain the situation, they may be able to stop or reverse the transaction.
    4. Consider reporting the scam to the Canadian Anti-Fraud Centre at https://www.antifraudcentre-centreantifraude.ca.

If all you shared was your email and address, your risk is lower, but it’s a good idea to monitor for suspicious activity and avoid clicking any further links from unknown sources.
