I just received a phone call from someone at Telus overseas, asking how I was doing. I said "Bad" as my bill increased out of nowhere in March. Peewee agent proceeds to completely disregard my response and reads his script, "we wanted to make sure everything is going well" I replied, "No, I just said it was going badly--" And was immediately hung up on. Telus. Up your game. Contact me immediately, correct my bill, provide a back-credit for this unprecedented increase, and another credit for this ludicrous level of professionalism (none), or I will be calling Shaw within the next 24 hours and leaving your joke of a service.178Views1like3CommentsBitrate Quality on TELUS TV Plus
So, I am literally day 1 with Telus tv. I switched from old school 1080p60 Shaw boxs. It is insane how poor the bitrate is with Telus tv plus. I have 5 gig fiber with telus (and love it). I have their android boxes hard lined too. Yes, I have the right res set on each box with the best possible quality set. The poor quality is 100% due to telus brutal bitrate feed. I should have done some more research on this, there are a pile of posts on this same subject. I just assumed with such good internet the bitrate would be good too. I flipped back to one of my shaw boxs, since my service was not cut off yet, and its crazy to see the difference in quality, especially in sports. Thankfully I am within the 30 days and will be returning everything and calling shaw asking to put a hold on that cancellation. If you care about quality, hold off getting telus tv till they bump their bitrate. Andrew1.8KViews0likes3CommentsHow to diagnose bad wifi calling quality?
My house is a farraday cage, and I *have* to use wifi calling. It's not great. Sometimes I get robot-voice, underwater-voice, and really bad audio dropouts -- like I'm hearing every third word. We have have gigabit fibre, and the call quality issues occur with both a Pixel 7 and an LG G7. The only thing I can think of to do is check jitter and packet loss with a tool like PingPlotter (although I concede that this won't be conclusive; Wifi Calling probably uses UDP). Can you link me to technical information about how Wifi Calling works, and how to figure out which Telus servers are in use? Any other diagnostic suggestions would be appreciated.1.5KViews1like1CommentWhere to complain about removal of "wifi calling priority" on Android?
My house is a Farraday cage and I need to use wifi calling when I'm inside. I've got a Pixel 7, and I've enabled wifi calling. However, if I get too near a window, the phone switches back to mobile calling, which has VERY poor quality. I want to use Android's "wifi calling priority" preference, but it seems that Telus does not permit it. Where should I direct a complaint?2.5KViews1like4Comments
