Re: Issue with closed account affecting credit report
I have a similar problem with Telus. Except, the account was never ACTIVATED. They were to send sims, but they never showed up, and so after spending hours dealing with Telus that (typically) never got anywhere, I told them never mind. And then the billings started. And showed up on my credit rating (Mortgage renewal coming up.) I do NOT owe Telus any money - could not owe any money because the cellular account was never activated - but now there is some mysterious number showing on an open Telus account that is affecting my credit rating. Literally days of talking to Telus have been pointless. Talking on this board has been pointless. 'Trying' to talk to the 'support' from the moderators on the board has been pointless. Talking to the credit department has been pointless. One Telus guy even told me that "It is my problem, not his, and if it costs me thousands of dollars in interest costs because of credit loss, that is not his concern." I asked to speak to his supervisor, and he said " I AM the supervisor ... and what I say is final." All the while his tone of voice was F off and D. The irony is that, though I would like to completely exist in a world without Telus ... sigh, last year we buried our Telus optical line across our farm at thousands of dollars of cost, and so we still have THAT small Telus INTERNET account ... and the idea of throwing that large expense away is SO frustrating, that we still have kept the Telus 'homeservice' account. In other words, though we are not a cellular customer ... yes we are a Telus customer - and yet they treat us like this. Unbelievable.694Views0likes0CommentsTelus refuses to remove account
After 12 hours ... yes TWELVE hours ... of talking to Telus, they refuse to remove an account that was never activated. It still shows up with monthly billings, and it shows up on my credit rating. Was going to sign up for Telus mobility, but changed my mind when the sim cards NEVER showed up. Told them thanks but no thanks (because seemed goofy to sign up for an account where could not actually make a call without sims.) So 'account' was never activated, never used, etc. But Telus will NOT remove the account. NO ONE SHOULD EVER SIGN ON TO TELUS if they are a working person that has to renew a mortgage or manage their credit status. It will knock points off their credit rating every month even if they do NOT owe Telus any money. (And yes I have lodged a dispute with the Credit agency ... but chances are zero that anything will change.)722Views0likes2CommentsRe: Can't cancel Telus Mobility
The 'private messages' just send a link that 'verifies'. But never leads to anywhere. And now there is a new bill out that is charging for a service that I do not have. The Telus page in bold lettering says the account that was never initiated, IS CANCELLED. Yet, a new bill comes out today with new charges for March. Seems that I am to pay a small fee per month for a non-existent service, for as long as I live. I suppose I could just pay it and write off the few hundred dollars a year indefinitely as a punishment for interacting with Telus ... but I can't pay it - BECAUSE THE ACCOUNT DOES NOT EXIST Amazingly, the bill includes taxes for services that I am not signed up for, and do not use. What is Telus thinking? Are they remitting tax payments on accounts that do not exist? You would think that that is going to be an accounting mess.2KViews0likes1Comment- 2.1KViews0likes3Comments
Re: Can't cancel Telus Mobility
As of Feb 11, on my Credit Report, it is still showing a Telus bill of $229.00 Since the SIM cards never showed up, we gave up and canceled the new mobility account within a couple weeks. The account was never activated with the SIM cards. No cell lines were ever activated, I have spent a total of 8 HOURS talking to Telus … and nothing changes. But the Telus fraudsters will NOT take the steps to stop it showing up on the Credit Report. We are renewing our mortgage in a couple months. Any drop in our credit rating will cost us thousands of dollars. RSR2.2KViews0likes5CommentsCan't cancel Telus Mobility
Tried signing on for 3 cell lines. But after couple weeks sim cards never showed up, so gave up and called Telus to cancel sign up... Long story short - over a period of time I have spent 8 hours talking to the folks in Guatemala City or wherever it is, and I simply can NOT end the process. Supposedly the account cancelled - but the billings continue FOR A SERVICE I DO NOT HAVE, and have not had. It is dropping my credit rating, and since we have to renew our mortgage in a couple months, this could cost us THOUSANDS of dollars. Is there any way to contact someone at Telus that will ACTUALLY end this nightmare? Or do I start a class-action lawsuit, or contact RCMP commercial crime, or what?2.4KViews1like9Comments
