Re: Can't connect to Modem using 192.168.1.254 and the default admin password.
Looks like the one in my basement that is larger is the Boost 6E, while the 2 other smaller ones are Boost 6E mini. I was able to find the NH20T behind a cabinet on my main floor. Previously I thought there were only the 3 pods (1x 6e, 2x 6e minis). This was confusing because the 6e is what's in my basement media cabinet, and it is being fed the main coaxial cable into it. The main modem was always in this media cabinet, as this is where all of the ethernet connections stem from. (Previously there was a T3200M that the technician removed.) This is why I expected this to have the admin password and be the main modem, but it seems that isn't the case. Is this setup correct? I was able to connect to use the "connected devices" information to log into the main 6e, but there are no tabs to change the wifi name or password. The network still isn't showing up on My Connect App either. From the 'Overview' tab, selecting "WiFi information (Online)" only shows : 'Modem (Network Access Hub)', and shows no boosters. Below which, it says: "(i) WiFi configuration If you have installed your Boost Wi-Fi 6, it may take up to 24 hours for it to appear. Still don't see it? Troubleshoot. " Shouldn't this have already been set up by the technician or am I supposed to be doing this myself? Am trying to get things configured right now and will update, thanks for your responses Nighthawk.6.5KViews0likes2CommentsRe: Can't connect to Modem using 192.168.1.254 and the default admin password.
No luck in getting any of the boost devices connected and visible on the my wifi app. All of the boost devices show a green light indicating normal status. When checking wifi strength: 1. Standing right next to the boost device (a boost 6E mini) which is hooked up to the NH20T, strength is 500mbps. 2. Standing next to the larger boost 6E in the basement, strength is 500mbp. 3. Standing net to the boost 6E upstairs, strength is only 100 mbps. Again none of the devices are showing up on the telus app, even after followin their setup instructions and doing a 1 minute search for boost devices in the area. Also, the boost 6E mini connected to the NH20T on the main floor is connected to port 1 on the NH20T, instead of the 10MB port as shown in the setup instruction. Is this correct? Thanks in advance6.5KViews0likes1CommentRe: Can't connect to Modem using 192.168.1.254 and the default admin password.
It's very strange, because I got the Technicolor NH20T model name from my Telus Connect App. It is listed as: Modem (Network Access Hub) so I assumed this was the device, but googling shows that it is indeed a box. My modem however is a tall white cylinder (similar to the boost devices, only bigger) with the B21A model name at the bottom being the only identifier I can find.6.8KViews0likes8CommentsRe: Can't connect to Modem using 192.168.1.254 and the default admin password.
Hi, I'm very sorry, but it looks like I accidentally gave you the wrong model number. The model number is B21A, and it is a tall white cylinder, not a box like the NH20T is. My apologies. Again I found and used the admin password listed underneath the cover of the B21A, which is listed below the Default Wifi Network name and password, but it did not work. I know the boost password has no relation to the main router, but I did come across other users saying they had to connect to their boost devices to access the admin login page, so I tried them anyway. I knew this wasn't likely to be the case since I was access the admin page via the default IP (192.168.1.254) but still wanted to give it a shot.6.9KViews0likes1CommentRe: Can't connect to Modem using 192.168.1.254 and the default admin password.
Hi Nighthawk, Its a Technicolor NH20T. I do have two of the Boost units from Telus, and I have tried both of the admin passwords on each of the boost devices, triple checking to see if I made any capitalization or typing errors. Neither of them worked. I only tried resetting the main router, as this is the router which I am connected to via wifi, and which has the same default password as the network.8KViews0likes12CommentsCan't connect to Modem using 192.168.1.254 and the default admin password.
Hello all, I recently had PureFibre installed, and am trying to connect to the admin page to change the wifi-password. I know that it takes 24-48 hours to do this on the MyConnect app, so I wanted to do it manually here. I am connecting to 192.168.1.254 and seeing the telus login page, but my credentials aren't working, and when I try to use the "Forgot Login Password" link to enter my default admin password located on the gateway label under the cover panel, it says the password is incorrect. Ive tried many times and am certain that it is entered correctly. I tried doing a hard rest on the modem by pressing the tiny button with a pin, but the default password still doesn't work. Do I simply have to wait 24-48 hours, or am I doing something wrong here? Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.9.4KViews2likes16Comments
