Telus WiFi Hub - Port Forwarding not working?
Port forwarding on my Telus WiFi Hub (white cylinder thing) isn't working. I open the correct ports that say a particular game requires with the correct forwarding local IP, and yet the port does not open. I can connect to my own game server for example by using my local IP, but using my public IP address times out and other users experience the same. 1. Telus tech support barely knows what's going 2. They say its a manufacturer issue so that I take the matter up with them 3. The company (Arcadya) is based out of Taiwan The lack of support here really surprises me. I'm seriously considering switching back to Shaw as I've never had problems like this with their service.5.4KViews0likes4CommentsRe: Telus Router opening ports and port fowarding
The only hardware i have is a white cylindrical one These are made by a Taiwanese company called Arcadya and TELUS directs all questions to them regarding modem support. In other words, TELUS support does not troubleshoot port forwarding or other advanced network setup issues. I'm having the exact same problem as you. I was a SHAW customer from 2000-2021 before switching to TELUS. Never had a need to port forward anything until a few months ago and it will simply not work. It seems to be a firmware/hardware issue and I'm actually in the process of trying to contact Arcadya for support on this. I've attempted turning off all firewalls and placing my PC on a complete DMZ and the ports in question are still closed. The router simply does not implement certain features despite the UI saying otherwise. I will update my answer here if I find any solution.8.3KViews0likes0CommentsPort forwarding doesn't work?
I'm trying to set up a dedicated game server that uses default ports 2456-2458. I go through the self explanatory menus and open those ports up with the correct local IP the server is hosted on. Then when anybody tries to connect it just times out. Port checking websites show those ports closed. I can connect to the server via my local IP (playing on the same machine it's hosted on) so I know the server is working fine. The ports are just not forwarding as per the menu. I've been forwarding ports for over a decade and have never had this issue being unable to perform this simple action. Even placing my entire machine in the DMZ still shows the ports closed. I've tried rebooting the modem but the problem remains. Here is my modem details: Model Name: TELUS Wi-Fi Hub Firmware Version: v3.00.24 build06 Boot Code Version: 0.00.01 Hardware Version: 012.8KViews0likes2Comments
