Original Telus email address 1999?

I was cancelling my Telus internet but arranging to keep my email address when we ran into a problem. Apparently the address I was using is an alias created after Telus assigned me a 1A1****@telus.net as start up email in the late 1990's.  I vaguely remember they gave you the ID and then you proceeded to choose your own combination for an address. The address I have been using for years does not show as an existing email on their system, but does how attached to the 1A1****@telus.net (along with 2 other alias' I had set up) I tried sending an email to the 1A1 address but it bounced back as "undeliverable and not found in the destination domain". I was hoping Support would have an "old timer" that remembers the system or if it has anything to do with the Gmail migration. The Rep promised to escalate it but sometimes these issues get lost.  Thanks for any help
