Apple TV 4K channels
I am wondering if we have any updates on the Apple TV version of the TV+ app.
While the Apple TV app has been out for a long time it seems to not be getting any better. I see all of these new apps coming out for the Firestick and built in tv apps for Samsung and LG. The new apps have 4k channels where the Apple TV still doesn’t (at least on my end it doesn’t).
just wondering if there is a time frame as to when the Apple TV app will be updated to feature parity. It could be a placebo but it also seems like the Apple TV app is lacking in streaming quality compared to the other.
i appreciate Telus putting this app everywhere but surely they should all be equal.
There is a technological difference between how Apple TV and other devices (Fire, Samsung, LG) detect the device/display combination (for example, Apple TV HD connected to a 4K display or Apple TV 4K connected to an HD display) and this was leading to playback failures in our 4K live channel testing. I will circle back with the teams on whether anything has changed on that front recently.
That said, we do update the Apple TV application monthly to try and maintain feature parity across devices (4K On Demand was recently introduced, as an example). Are there any other features missing from Apple TV that are available on other devices from your point of view? Would love to share feedback with the team.
