3 TopicsUniversal remotes (TELUSTV-24S and One For All)
Posting this mostly in case it turns out to be useful for someone else out there. I purchased a One For All Essence 6 universal remote, but struggled to set it up in relation to my Telus set-top box (a TELUSTV-24S or SER2024TLU). In my case, using code 6068, which is for a Technicolor product, was the solution. Summarizing the steps: Pressed the STB button Held the Setup button until it flashed twice Typed in 6068 and waited for the Setup button to flash twice once again It was then possible to turn it on/off, use the cursor keys, etc. It's not perfect, and some keys I might have expected to work don't seem to do anything, but it's a broadly functional solution. Note: the universal remote has a learning function and it worked well for my TV remote and for my soundbar remote, but for some reason I couldn't get it to work with the supplied set-top box remote from Telus đ€· Hope this helps someone! I did find some existing threads (like this one, and this one) but they didn't really provide a concrete answer. Perhaps, if the mods allow, this could be left open so others can add other helpful notes for universal remote users.88Views1like1CommentEVOLUTION OPTIK TV REMOTE TV w/Amazon FireTV
Has anyone successfully 'programmed their remote with TV' with an Amazon FireTV? When I go to Settings>Remotes & Accessories>Program Remote w/TV>Search for TV Brand > I can't seem to locate either Amazon or FireTV; since the TV is essentially a ROKU TV, I do happen to find AOC (ROKU TV), ATVIO (ROKU TV), ELEMENT (ROKU TV), HAIER (ROKU TV), HISENSE (ROKU TV) <I know it's not this one), HITACHI (ROKU TV), INSIGNIA (ROKU TV) <I know it's not this one either), JVC (ROKU TV), MAGNAVOX (ROKU TV), ONN (ROKU TV), PHILIPS (ROKU TV), RCA (ROKU TV), SANYO (ROKU TV), SHARP (ROKU TV), TCL (ROKU TV), WESTINGHOUSE (ROKU TV). I have tried most of them but to no avail. Yes, I have called technical support, and they tell me that the box is 'Google-internet based,' so it is constantly updating, but I thought perhaps the #neighbourhood might know. Something tells me that when I bought the TV, Toshiba either manufactured it or reverted to the new model, which is manufactured by Amazon directly. And yes, I have also tried Toshiba, which has been unsuccessful. Has anyone had any luck programming their Amazon FireTV? If so, please let me know!!! đ« đ đ€Solved3.3KViews0likes2Comments
