Anybody else have this problem? Since last summer, my PVR has been progressively worse at recording my programmed events. It's hit or miss, but the problems really started getting worse last fall. The recorded show would start to play, then the image would freeze, sound would stop, and then it would come back, 10 seconds later, with missed program. Since the beginning of the year, it has gotten worse. The recorded show would start and then a couple minutes after watching, the show would end. Essentially missing 50+ minutes of the hour long show. I would try fast forwarding and then the playback would stop, looking like I've watched the whole show. To try and solve the problem, I would reboot the PVR, through soft ware, or, pull the plug. Usually, I would reboot the router. Sometimes it would be fine, other times, not. Finally an overseas tech found that my PVR didn't have a necessary update to it's firmware/software. He initialised the update. Then, a couple nights ago, we watched 38 minutes of a show and it ground to a halt. Any ideas would be appreciated. And yes, I can still surf the web and all that.69Views0likes1CommentMy Favorite Channels and Recording Settings?
With respect to Optik TV+ 21T boxes, the persistent issues with My Favorites and Recording Settings/Options are in their 2nd year. Is it asking too much: Telus, if you are reading this, are there any resolutions in the works? If so, any updates or ETA? Is cable TV still part of your mission? Last I checked it's still a line item on my monthly Home/Internet Services bill. Cable TV appears to have taken a back seat, or perhaps not even seated next, to Streaming and OnDemand services. Not looking for Amazon Fire Stick just a Telus Glow Stick would suffice for now. A non-complicated, unencumbered TV viewing experience is not a lot to ask; considering, we are committed to 2yr plans for just that!2.3KViews1like4CommentsMissing PVR shows of scheduled series recordings
Hey Neighbours, I upgraded to the new Evolution boxes two months ago and entered my old series recordings. Some are Last Week Tonight with John Oliver, Power & Politics with David Cochrane, FBI, FBI: International, FBI: Most Wanted, etc. Well, since the switchover from Telus 2.0 Box to the 4.0 Evolution Box, I've noticed that multiple days of episodes of Power & Politics will be missing, and FBI: Most Wanted will simply not record. It's happening to a few other shows as well, including PTI on TSN. Other settings are being ignored, such as choosing not to record reruns and only tape on one channel. I tape the Disability Law show on Saturday mornings and get it again recorded on Sundays on a different channel. The software or coding on the Evolution 4.0 Box was rushed to market. Does anybody else get this? I've called now twice to technical support, the first time they escalated my grievance to tier 2 and said someone would call me back (that never happened) and my episodes are still being missed. Today, the tech support agent told me that he would send a technician out after making a remote diagnosis. I said about my first call; he read the notes, then he said he could do more 'remotely' as this is the newest box out on the market 'blah blah blah.' After whatever he did, he had the nerve to tell me that perhaps the reason the shows weren't taping was due to me disconnecting the Evolution box or that the wires weren't connected. I said, "BS! How is it that the other 4/5 days of the week are taping, but now the 1? "...anyway, is anyone else getting this? I feel like returning the 4.0 box and returning to the 2.0 box is not worth the extra bells & whistles... I appreciate any help you can provide 🤓Solved8.1KViews0likes10Comments
