Questions about Telus Boost access points
I see the following settings on the Easy Mesh page and I'm wondering what they do. These are all enabled at the moment. Role: Auto Legacy Steering: Enabled Disabling legacy steering means that only devices supporting IEEE 802.11k and 802.11v are steered by your TELUS Boost Wi-Fi system to the best connection. Band Steering: Enabled Disabling band steering means that your devices will not be steered by your TELUS Boost Wi-Fi system to the best band (2.4GHz or 5GHz). AP Steering: Enabled Disabling AP steering means that your devices will not be steered by your TELUS Boost Wi-Fi system to the best AP. Do the Boost WiFi 6, Boost Mini 6E, and Boost 7 all have the same features in the admin page? Is there any way to change the transmission power of the antennas? How come under connected devices, none of my TVs, which are connected via WiFi, show the band they're connected to, while my phone, tablet, and laptop do? Are the Smart Device and Guest Networks totally isolated from the main network? I want to connect my IoT devices to the Smart Device Network and guests connect to the Guest Network for security purposes. Is there a reason why the password for the Smart Device Network is unchangeable? Will this be addressed in the future? What is CCMP encryption under the Guest Network? Will WPA3 ever be enabled for this network? Does the Boost 7 support 320MHz bandwidth? Is MLO supported? How often are firmware updates released, and do they automatically update behind the scenes? Are the access points and NAH very secure?
Wifi 7 Booster Band split 2.5ghz, 5ghz, 6ghz,
I currently have smart band splitting for my home, however someone recommend to have it split. however my booster settings they give the option as 2.5ghz + 5ghz and 6ghz. Wondering if I should disable the 6ghz and how do I make seperate wifi connections.
The TELUS Wi-Fi booster is only extending the main SSID and not the Smart Network.
My TELUS Wi-Fi booster is only extending the main SSID and does not appear to boost the Smart Network. Devices connected to the Smart Network are not benefiting from the booster’s coverage. Is this expected behavior, or is there a way to configure the booster to extend the Smart Network as well?Optik tv and Boost 7
I've recently upgraded to wifi booster 7 and 3 gig internet. My wifi speeds are excellent. But now I have found that none of my Wireless optik tv boxes work. I have signal and great connection on them, the program plays for about 10 seconds and then I get the message "tv signal has been lost" I called into tech support and they tell me my optik tv wirless boxes are not compatible with wifi 7 boosters? I believe this is a bandwidth channel issue as the boxes all worked great on wifi 6 boosters. Anyone out there using wireless optik tv boxes and Boost 7? Wired PVR works perfectly Netflix, Prime video, VOD all work perfectly on wireless boxes, it's just the tv signal that is an issue for me on Boost 7 wireless connection Help!
