Re: recordings
After 45 minutes on hold we got through and they are sending one new box. I don’t know if that will help or not. We also can’t pause Live TV reliably anymore. It will pause for a short time and then it will say it is jumping to live tv to allow for recording (even if we aren’t recording) or it will say pause is not available right now. I don’t know why we pay so much for the service when we can’t watch live or recordings. Pretty close to cancelling our Optik service.29Views0likes1CommentRe: recordings
So the Optik boxes are back at it. This same corruption issue is happening with increasing frequency again. Additionally now, we get a "Press the Ok Button on your remote to browse recordings" flash on the screen while we are trying to watch a recording. As well when we try and pause live TV it will suddenly jump ahead with a message that says the channel has jumped forward to allow for live tv viewing or recording, neither of which we are trying to do. To refresh about the issue: We record a show. We start to watch it. As we are watching, it will stop and the menu that comes up when you stop playing a recording comes up with no option to "resume play" and then the recording goes back to the beginning. The recording is then corrupted and it will no longer play past the point it stopped. It is extremely frustrating!56Views0likes3CommentsRe: What happened to Telus rewards?
I think there are 2 things at play. One the expiry of some points that were earned before December 2023 and the second being the rewards system being down. I think they say it’s not a lie because they mentioned the points expiry (albeit it in the worst way possible). Don’t get me wrong I agree that this has been handled atrociously with not good communication but I’m not sure they lied.4KViews0likes0CommentsRe: What happened to Telus rewards?
I don’t agree with them stating they are lying but I do agree the rollout of this is problematic. I don’t check my bills. I look at the total and if it is the same as previous months then that’s all there is to it. Burying something in tiny print to announce points expiring is definitely underhanded. As you can see from this thread Telus clearly has the ability to email customers (although many people didn’t receive the April email a previous poster mentioned) and should have emailed this notice out to the rewards members. In this day and age of ebills, automatic payments and postal strikes they should have known this notification was not enough. Hopefully the Telus decision makers will take this into account in the future.5.1KViews0likes0CommentsRe: What happened to Telus rewards?

THANK YOU! I thought I was going crazy. I did not receive this email and was freaking out because it was looking like I had no points. I received the email in March saying that things were going to be changing, but not this April one. I tried the chat, and they said I have points but they don't know that they are not accessible right now. It was so frustrating!6.7KViews0likes1CommentRe: recordings
Yes this is a known issue. I've had this issue ongoing many times. They replaced my PVR and it was good for a bit but now it is happening with increasing frequency again. I have trouble believing the hardware would fail so quickly. It is super frustrating to be halfway a 2 hour episode of the Survivor finale for instance and have it do it. It then corrupts the file and you can't ever watch the end. I'm thinking about scrapping the PVR altogether, because it just isn't worth the frustration.3KViews0likes5Comments
