some CTV "Free" preview TV channels
I note that Telus is currently offering several free preview channels, which include CTV Comedy and CTV Drama. Looking at the offerings on both of these channels over a three week period, I am utterly astounded. CTV Comedy is offering ONLY episodes of "The Big Bang Theory", 24/7. CTV Drama is offering ONLY episodes of "Gilmore Girls", 24/7. No other shows are on offer. Who in their right mind wants to watch 48 episodes of one show every 24 hours? Surely this cannot be a teaser to get people to subscribe to these channels? What is Telus, and CTV, even thinking? I was never a fan of Big Bang Theory, as the insidious and horrific laugh track invades every second of the show; I do not want to hear it! I will not subscribe to any of these channels. Perhaps offer them at other times of the year, when their programming is more varied. Of course, CTV is Bell, and Bell is a competitor of Telus....hmmmm.10Views0likes0Commentsuse reward points to pay bill
I am glad to see that one can once again use accumulated rewards points towards the Telus bill. I was able to convert 60,000 reward points as $50 towards my bill. Customers have been asking for this for about 2 years, since it had been discontinued. I'm hoping this is because Telus listened to complaints.70Views0likes1CommentRe: "Your TELUS Home Service account has been modified" - but I did not initiate this!?!?
I have been with Telus for a long time. In the past, whenever Telus wishes to give viewers a temporary freebie, it shows up on channel 5. Never before have I had the 'freebies' incorporated into a unilaterally revised contract, such as for National Geographic and DTOUR this month. Since there are often new 'freebies' every month, that would mean creating a new revised contract each month (for each customer!!), which would be ridiculous. Or is this just for me, and why do it this way? Can someone please explain? It is difficult enough getting through to Telus when needed; I do not want to go through this each month.105Views0likes0Comments"Your TELUS Home Service account has been modified" - but I did not initiate this!?!?
I got two emails yesterday Aug 11 from Telus claiming that my home service agreement has been modified (Agreement Date : August 12, 2025 12:38:27 a.m. UTC (Order Completed)), yet I took no such action. It states: "You have modified: Optik TV I looked at the new agreement and compared to the old agreement. All I see that has changed is the addition to Optik TV of National Geographic Mini Offer and DTOUR MIni Offer - neither of which I asked for! Also, a $5 reduction for one month, then back to the old rate. What is going on??? Is this the new Telus way of giving us a temporary freebie to watch (instead of listing such on channel 5)? If so, is this going to generate a new services agreement each time? Seems absurd! And confusing. Please explain why this happened. Thanks.170Views0likes2CommentsRe: ch 355 Cottage Life - ending?
If that is the case, then I hope Telus gets their schedule soon. Otherwise, any programs on Cottage Life I have set to record as a series will not be recorded, since the guide does not list them. It is up to Telus to pursue and fix this issue. Also, why does the guide refer to their programming as "SIGN OFF" rather than "no information" or some such?1.2KViews0likes3Commentsch 355 Cottage Life - ending?
My guide info for ch 355 Cottage Life seems to end at 9:15pm Sunday June 15 (tonight). Instead of program information, all it shows is "SIGN OFF" for the next two weeks. According to the Cottage Life TV website, the channel is a going concern. So is the Telus Guide incorrect? Or is the channel to be discontinued by Telus? If so, will we get a price reduction for the missing channel, or will it be replaced in the theme pack by something else?Solved1.3KViews0likes5CommentsRe: Renewal after the initial two years
I have been with Telus for maybe 16 years, and get a new contract every two years. But, I always ask to speak with someone on the Loyalty Team to negotiate the new contract, a few weeks before the anniversary date. That way I never pay the full price for the services I get. Currently I pay about 50% of what would be the full price.954Views1like0Comments
