No Signal on TV from 10 Sec +
Hi, I have a family member that is having a problem. They have 2 tv's with 2 Telus Android boxes (21T) Basement TV - Works fine. TV gets a signal instantly. Spare room needed a new tv as the previous one (Sony) broke. Prior to this, everything worked well and the Telus signal was instant. Since getting a new Samsung tv, it struggles to get a signal ("No Signal" is displayed). After about 10 seconds, it would get a signal and the TV would then work. Over the following few days, the delays got longer. Even up to 1 hour before the signal was restored. I went over and changed the HDMI port and again it started working with the 10 sec delay. Gradually again, the delays got up to 45 min before there would be any TV activity. I googled some stuff and it mentioned that Anynet+ (HDMI-CEC), if enabled could cause some problems. I disabled that option and immediately it started to work again albeit with the 10 sec delay. Again, prior to the new tv, there were no problems and there was no delay in getting the signal. Does the Telus box retain any old manufacturer data and needs to be factory reset when a new TV is purchased? I was thinking about changing cables but this setup worked absolutely fine with the older Sony (non smart) tv. Any suggestions? Update: As per KHR, I did a factory reset which did fix the problem. After fully booting, the “Who’s watching” screen came up with both profiles shown. Thank you. One minor issue that came up during the setup was trying to get the remote to pair. The white LED on the remote was flashing (pair mode), but still by pressing 7 & 9 on the remote didn’t fix the problem including another reboot on the Telus box. It kept prompting to pair every few minutes. I think because it was already paired before I did the factory reset, it got confused that it was originally already paired. In order to fix this issue, I removed the batteries from the remote and then rebooted the box again. When everything came back up to the Home screen, I put the batteries back in and then it immediately automatically paired the remote and the white LED stopped flashing.2.8KViews1like1CommentRe: Optik TV Android Box setting up profiles
Hi Yes, I do see the profile selection screen when I log onto telustvplus.com. However, a mentioned, I do the profile selection screen as well on one of my other two boxes. Only one is affected. As you suggested, I guess I will need to try and do a factory reset and see what happens. Thanks2.8KViews0likes0CommentsOptik TV Android Box setting up profiles
Hi, I have 2 Telus Optik TV Android boxes (TelusTV-21T). With my first one, when the TV and box is powered up, I get a "Who is watching what" screen, where I can choose between 2 profiles that I setup. Each profile has a different profile pic. But with other one, I cannot setup up any profiles. On the "Home" screen, I have a "Settings" tab, which has a "Gear" icon, but when clicked, this doesn't allow me to add a profile. I updated the software and did a couple of restarts to no avail. Any idea on what the solution might be? ThanksSolved3.1KViews0likes8CommentsRe: Wifi Plus
Thanks for your reply. Wifi Plus was finally added to my account along with the $10 monthly fee which was to be included free, as per my offer. The loyalty department could not just credit me the monthly $10 charge either, they had to give me a complete new agreement. Doesn’t make much sense to me.2.8KViews0likes0CommentsWifi Plus
When I signed up for Pure Fibre it was to include Wifi Plus in my plan. However upon calling Telus for support, the agent said that Wifi Plus is not noted in my account. I called back another time with proof of the order, and this time the agent said it will be added to my account. So, my question is, where is it shown that I actually have this coverage? On my bill? Recently I just had Pure Fibre installed and all works well with the wifi, except for the Guest network which results in really slow speeds of about 35 Mbps when testing with various network speed test sites. Regular wifi has speeds of about 400 Mbps. Installer said they ran out of the regular Boost Wifi device and installed a Boost Wifi Mini instead. Both tests were done on a iphone and ipad about 10 feet from the Boost Mini device. I tried restarting the device with no change. Not sure if replacing the Mini with the correct one will solve this problem. Has anyone run into this with their Guest network? ThanksSolved1.5KViews0likes1Comment
