Re: How do I block my caller ID from my cellphone?
#31# Blocks when Carrier displays Number *31# Unblocks when Carrier hides Number. You can adjust your carriers settings in your diaper settings, to suit your level of sketchiness. Be warned the information can always be revealed with a warrant!48KViews0likes0Comments- 3.2KViews1like0Comments
Re: Double NAT
If you have router 1 assigning 198:256:X:X and you have router 2 assigning 10:0:X:X, router 2 is getting its DNS settings from router 1. This is a horrible work around, unless you need 2 separate networks. If that is the case then you would need to alter your masks. Router 2 loses connection at 12H when the public IP changes and then you have to reboot to get the new settings. Your real problem is that Telus issues ONE dynamic Public IP that the Telus Router is dropping every 12H, you can adjust this setting, but that defeats the point of a dynamic IP, as this allows you to evade detection by unscrupulous parties. So call Telus and ask them for another IP address, change the setting on your router to manually translate your public IP, this will fix your problem. If you just want to extend your network, consider a switch or bridge your private router.4.2KViews0likes0CommentsRe: Adding non Telus Mesh wireless repeaters to the home network
The simple answer is that you cannot have two local IP addresses in one network, well you can but you’d need to change your subnet mask. Those mesh networks want you to connect directly to the Public IP address, and they will configure the rest - they are idiot proof allegedly. So you need to bridge one of your routers, either the Asus Mesh or the Telus Modem/ Router. Chances are the former will be difficult as it is meant to be idiot proof, unless you have advanced mode in there, then just look for bridge mode and it work. Your best bet is call Telus and ask them to bridge their router, this will disable the routing function on box and only leave the modem. Now your Asus mesh is free to do what it was meant to do, assign IP addresses.4.8KViews0likes0CommentsRe: Can i sign up now and upgrade to fibre later?
You wouldn’t get penalized, simply because you do not own the technology Telus does, the connection is either copper or fibre. When fibre comes copper goes, only one gets to connect to the internet. Think of fibre as true internet, as time goes on the “true internet” that is fibre gets closer and closer to your computer. Now it’s made it to your house, in the future it will make it to your router, then the computer, and then the motherboard etc.2.7KViews0likes0Comments
