Re: Network Status shows Synology NAS IP Address as N/A
Thanks, Wi-Fi Boost (rebooted on Monday), Fibre Modem, Telus Connect only the Boost can't tell the IP address, each of the 3 have to be told what various devices are randomly except the fibre modem has no rename option so a lot of name-unavailable listings. Telus Connect called my computer GIGABYTE TECHNOLOGY in all caps and my phone which is the device Telus Connect was running on as Unknown.124Views0likes0CommentsNetwork Status shows Synology NAS IP Address as N/A
I have a Synology NAS It is hardwired to the Telus Wi-Fi Boost B21A (Trashcan). I have it set to a fixed IP above the DHCP range (64-200) of the fibre router. Previously the NAS was on the wrong gateway (formerly Shaw) so I've just fixed that and rebooted the Wi-Fi and the NAS. When I login to the fibre router, its connected devices list shows the Synology with the correct IP and MAC address. Before I fixed the gateway the IP showed as N/A on this list. My computer and printer both show up with IP addresses as well on this list. But when I login to the Wi-Fi boost device, its connected devices list shows the Synology with the MAC address but the IP is N/A so I'm wondering if something is still set incorrectly. My PC and printer both show the correct IP on this list.187Views0likes2CommentsRe: Fibre Modem Disconnecting Intermittently
It got worse, disconnected most of the time, connected only occasionally for a few minutes or seconds. A technician came by today and redid 3 fibre optic connectors and now everything is fine so far. I guess the fibre optic installers did a poor job on the connectors.1.4KViews0likes1CommentFibre Modem Disconnecting Intermittently
After 3 months of largely no issues my fibre modem is randomly disconnecting and reconnecting for the last 3 days. When it happens my phone, internet and TV all stop working. I called support and all they can say is they cannot contact my modem so it is either off or disconnected. It can be off for 1/2 hour then work for 15 minutes and then go off again at all times of the day or night. I rebooted everything, with no effect and then 10 minutes later it just started working. I found an old post from 2022 that claimed this was a common issue when searching on social media. The last word was that they switched the channel on the Fibre Modem using the admin login so I guess I'll try that. https://forum.telus.com/t5/Internet-Home-Phone/Intermittent-Connection-and-Disconnection-on-Pure-Fibre-after/m-p/132659Solved1.3KViews0likes3CommentsAndroid Box and Recordings Problems
Is there a good place to see where they are making improvements? Feels like these boxes are still in beta testing level. Issues I've found Captions often don't work (live or recordings) Captions are giant and don't obey settings for size/color/etc Deleting a recording after watching is way too many clicks Getting to recordings is too many clicks Recordings are fixed to one channel so can't record HD/4K Canucks games automatically Can't record Canucks games on Sportsnet, just records all NHL games Playback should default to the 2' mark if all recordings are started 2' early Guide doesn't tell you when the episode originally aired Playback doesn't tell you what channel it was recorded from Using the replay to get an episode you missed doesn't properly save when you paused or switched to something else so you have to watch the episode from the start each time and you can't fast forward696Views0likes1CommentRe: Huawei P20/P20 Pro EMUI 10 Update!
I have a Huawei P20 Pro CLT-L04 in Victoria, BC The update downloaded sometime in the last few days. I had to get off the WiFi because the Telus server was blocked But then the RESTART button worked and a few minutes the install was complete.
