Re: Qolsys IQ 4 Remote Panel (Wireless)
A quick update, the display on the IQ2 Remote Tablet has gone dark and is apparently unresponsive. After some testing with an oscilloscope and digital VOM, I believe the Li-Ion Battery in the IQ2 has cratered out (lifespan expired). The original battery was a ZHUHAIGREATPOWER C20201105 3.7 Volt so I ordered 2 on Amazon (Front and Rear door keypads) based on their size and reviews.Order information follows: BXX Replacement Battery for Qolsys QR0041-840, SP584646-1S2P, IQ Panel 2, IQ Panel 2 Plus, IQ Panel 2 Touch Panel 3000mAh 3.7V2.3KViews0likes0CommentsRe: Reuse existing QOLSYS panel with Telus Smart Home
I was unable to Google locate a panel QS9208-5208-124 but discovered QS9207-5208-124 which is a Qolsys panel 2/2+ which is manufacturer discontinued but the installation manual for it is at the Qolsys site. It appears that the master panel you have has similar technical specifications as the IQ4 master panel I have, part # IQP4020-TEL, but you would only know for sure if you could get it to connect via bluetooth to your TELUS modem then to their (TELUS) alarm control centre. To do that you'd need to get TELUS to try to connect using your existing control panel so a TELUS employee would have to be at your home to attempt this. If that didn't work then likely you'll be buying the TELUS IQ Panel 4. Unfortunately when moving to another alarm provider your equipment must be compatible or like me, you'll experience "sticker shock" and some other issues, likely because of employee unfamiliarity with your equipment vs the TELUS supplied/supported parts.5KViews0likes0CommentsRe: Qolsys IQ 4 Remote Panel (Wireless) Alarm Message?
Sorry I'm a bit late replying, it seems I have a serious medical condition that precludes extended conversations. This solution did not work for my internet online TELUS login, I guess I'll be living with this "upgraded and improved" systems' idiosyncrasies compared to my original trouble-free DSC non-TELUS wired system.3.7KViews0likes0CommentsRe: Reuse existing QOLSYS panel with Telus Smart Home
Only if your master control is an IQ4 and your remote wireless panels are the QW9104-840 then most likely yes! In order to be compatible, the IQ Remote must be a part number QW9104-840. The following instructions are copied from a previous post... After correctly connecting power and following the instructions for IQ Panel 2 connecting you’ll likely find that your remote won’t connect to the IQ Panel 4, so here’s what I did to resolve the issue. You will need to access “Installer” mode In the WIFI “Advanced” menu turn off “Band Steering” after you enter your WIFI credentials and set WIFI to 2.4 GHz only. After you select the “IQ Remote Devices” select “TEST” button on the IQ Panel 4, then select “TEST” on the IQ 2 Remote. After “TEST” has run the devices are ready to “PAIR” so select “PAIR” on the IQ Panel 4 and then select “PAIR” on the IQ 2 Remote. They will start to synchronize and the IQ 2 Remote will start to download a patch to bring it up to the latest software (v 4.3 in my case) issue. It will take some time (about 15 minutes in my case) but the IQ 2 Remote will finally power off and then back on again, and when it stops rebooting, it will be connected (paired) with the IQ Panel 4 In the WIFI “Advanced” menu on the IQ 2 Remote, turn off “Band Steering” and select 2.4 GHz, then return to the main menu, you are done with pairing! You can the change the name(s) for your remote(s) using the IQ Panel 4 in “Installer” mode.5.1KViews0likes3CommentsQolsys IQ 4 Remote Panel (Wireless) Alarm Message?
I have tried to repeatedly turn off/reset a remote alarm indication (panel open type) on my internet login for my dismally installed TELUS wireless alarm system and still can't get any kind of response from TELUS, this wireless junk was TELUS's response to my previously perfectly working DSC wired alarm system until an unfortunate water flood. I previously posted about this but received absolutely no positive solutions or answers of any kind, has anyone got suggestions for a positive resolution to resetting this alarm message which doesn't show up on the home alarm panel? Thanks in advance... Frustrated is an understatement...Solved4KViews0likes4CommentsQolsys IQ Panel 4 "Panel Tamper" Message
Does anyone have any idea of how to reset the "Panel Tamper" message that appears only in our cellphone apps (my Android and wife's Apple IOS) and when I log in to the internet "TELUS Smarthome" site? The message does not show up on our control panel or our remote control panels at home, only on our cellphones and the TELUS Smarthome login. The other alarm messages reset when the item (ie bypass, etc) is cleared however this "Panel Tamper" message is persistent but only on our cells and the TELUS site. Thanks in advance...2.4KViews0likes1CommentRe: Telus Pure Fibre - info mailed to my personal home address
I am in Red Deer and only about 1 1/2 Km from the downtown Central Office. TELUS installed a fibre cable to the RCMP communications building in our neighbourhood 2 years ago but I still can't get fibre, very frustrating. My friend in Spruce Grove (old neighbourhood) got fibre this year and is very happy with it, wish we could get it too, I guess we'll just have to sit back and wait...2.4KViews0likes0Comments
