How To Spot Imposter TELUS Accounts
We've noticed an increase of fake/imposter accounts online claiming to be TELUS or TELUS Support recently. Many of these accounts even use the TELUS brand or imagery to attempt to trick our customers. As always, be vigilant and ensure that you're speaking with our real, verified accounts and do not share any personal or account information with them. Our main Facebook and Twitter / X accounts, both @TELUS and @TELUSSupport, have the official checkmarks to show authenticity.
Twitter / X
Here are some examples of fraudulent accounts from Facebook and Twitter / X. Note the usual signs that they're not real: newly created accounts, small numbers of followers, and generic unrelated handles.
Feel free to ask us here or at our official social media accounts if you're unsure about the authenticity of any messages you receive.
Thanks for the article @A-B!
The smiles give it away, nobody working at TELUS is that happy. Lol
Seriously, I didn't realize it was bad enough that we needed a post like this. Crazy!
Are Facebook and X admins deleting those fake accounts after TELUS reports them?
