Pure Fibre
5 TopicsRequest Fibre Optic Internet for Statra Building
Hi everyone, I wanted to ask if anyone here has experience with this or knows what the process is like for getting fibre installed in a strata-managed building. We had a fibre internet contract with Telus with our old place and now we are moving to a new place which a unit in older complex. When I contacted Telus, they mentioned that our building doesn’t currently have fibre installed, and ROA need to be signed by the building owner or strata if we wanted it to be install. My landlord (the owner of the unit) is giving a green light already, but he also would like to know more details and what would be the cost so he can bring this up to council meeting. We'd love to have faster and more stable internet since we are working from home and it requires a lot of download/ upload heavy files. Any advice for what would be the next steps for all of us?or who should i be contacting would be super appreciated! Thanks so much!352Views0likes0CommentsFTTH in Ontario
Hi All, I've just seen the announcement that Telus is bringing Fibre to the Home to Ontario and Quebec. I was wondering if this is piggy-backing off Bell, or is this a separate network - like Rogers FTTH in Ontario. On this note, is Telus FTTH in Ontario PPPoE or DHCP?1.3KViews0likes2CommentsPure Fibre install
Is it still possible to have Telus run the fibre line from our electric room to my strata unit. A bit of background. I bought the unit in my building on January this year, the previous owner I bought it from unfortunately did not allow to install the fibre line to the Unit when they were doing the fibre upgrades. I was told that Telus fibre was available and when the first technician came to instal the equipment we questioned why that was not fibre and we were told “this is how we are doing it now” and kept saying that it was fibre. We’ve been having inconsistent and slow speeds around 650 down and up. And I’ve had multiple calls with technical support regarding this. We are the only unit in the building with no fibre line directly to our unit. Telus keeps telling us that they can’t do anything about it. I just feel as a customer that I should not be expected to accept the fact it is what is when Telus has the means and capability to put the fibre line to my unit and shouldn’t have to go through all this trouble. They have a mandate to retire copper lines and yet I still have a copper line. My question is how do I get Telus to have them put a fibre line in my unit, it was initially approved the strata property manager and it was voted on by owners to have the lines installed. Why is this so difficult and why do I need to be calling multiple times telling them it’s not fibre to my unit. This is very frustrating and I’m thinking of going with Shaw.3.5KViews0likes4CommentsPure Fibre availability in Lethbridge?
Hi! I've been asking for availability of Pure Fibre in my neighbourhood since I first started getting Telus advertising about it maybe 10 years ago. The last agent I spoke with (a couple of months ago) about service upgrades said my neighbourhood wasn't even on the list. I asked how long the list was. The answer was that there is no list. In a press release on September 25, 2023, I read: “As a company with deep roots in Western Canada, we’re incredibly proud of our proven track record of putting customers and communities here first," said Zainul Mawji, Executive Vice-president and President of TELUS Consumer Solutions. I've been a customer for as long as Telus has been Telus and a resident in this neighbourhood for over 20 years. Do you ever plan to retrofit existing neighbourhoods, particularly mine? Thanks (in advance) for your prompt and considered response.2.4KViews0likes1Comment
