Re: Vivint Security System
I am having similiar issues and was provided that same response in that I need to upgrade all my equipment to theirs. I am unsure of another recourse, but if they arent able to assist me today with my latest issues with the doorbell I will be cancelling altogether.1.8KViews0likes1CommentRe: No Impressed With Telus Home Security
I was recently migrated over to Telus as well. Yesterday I was unable to access doorbell recordings thorugh my phone app or the panel. I have been on the phone with Telus Home Security this morning for well over an hour now and am on the 3rd representative. The second representative I spoke too said they were unable to help me as my account was cancelled in Feb 2023 which is why the video recordings werent showing up. He wasnt able to see the monthly invoices I am sent by home security and paying for. He wasnt able to see my previous calls made to Telus Home Security since the migration in June and he claimed to have been in the Home Security Department. This switch over to Telus is an absolute joke and if they cant resolve this today, i will be cancelling my services altogether.2.6KViews0likes3CommentsRe: Why am I forced to upgrade my Vivint system?
I recently moved over to Telus from Vivint as well and they tried to tell me I needed to upgrade my equipment too. I told them I would not be spending any money as a result of their acquisition of Vivint as all my equipment was working just fine. I also mentionted that their announcement indicated that we would see no change except for the billing. They then offered to replace all my equipment at "no cost", but when we went through in detail what they would be sending, it wasn't as many sensors as I have with my Vivint system. My bill has stayed the exact same from when I was with Vivint but I am not sure how long this will last. Since the switch now my system has nothing but issues and even had a false alarm in the middle of the night as a result of their firmware and system updates not working properly. Very, very angry about this move from Vivint to Telus as well. They missed a lot during their "due dilligence" Might be able to complain to the Competition bureau of Canada regarding this.6.9KViews3likes0CommentsSwitched from Vivint - False Alarms now due to Telus system
Was recently migrated over to Telus from Vivint and am wondering if anyone else is having issues with their panel and sensors going offline, as well as any "false alarms" being triggered in the middle of the night? We have 2 panels and 1 consistently is offline and rebooting. Our plug in sensor does the same thing. It is continually offline and needs to be taken out and plugged back in. Our alarm went off at 11:30 the other night indicating the basement window was open. When I got down to the basement, the window was not opened. Phoned into the security line, who had the wrong address and last name registered for the phone number I was calling from. (Obviously the data migration from Vivint to Telus wasn't 100% accurate.) They werent able to tell me why the alarm falsely triggered and was told that I had to phone tech support the next morning. Talked to Tech support and they said that the window sensor disconnected from the panel as my panel needed to be updated with the latest firmware so thats what triggered the alarm. They couldn't tell me why none of the other 8 sensors didn't disconnect or why the firmware didn't automatically update. With Vivint these updates were automatic. Tech support indicated this is a larger problem and that they are working on updating the firmware on panels as quick as they can but have no timeline when this will be completed. So, in the meantime there could be potentially false alarms that occur again! I was a customer with Vivint for 6 years and never experienced a false alarm in the middle of the night or sensors excessively being offline and disconnected. Very very dissappointed with this move over to Telus.3KViews0likes6Comments
