Hi What is 3rd party networking gear? I don't have any boosters, and not sure if there is something wrong with my account and streaming as it happens on and off. Even the other day my PVR lost a bunch of recordings and not sure why? I've been in touch the last month or two with an escalation manager, testing different ways to use the wireless optik box and it still does the same thing intermittently. He sent a new box a few weeks back to try and it still has the same issue. It's very frustrating as even today I had a show paused for maybe 10 min and it jumped to live and wouldn't let me rewind so I missed the show completely. It's been going on for a long time now and annoying. I have had a few boxes, and even a technician who came out months ago and checked the speed and blue light and adjusted it so it should be running better, but still issues. I believe I have the 250 plus internet speed, and it only seems to be happening on one box, not the other wireless optik box which is located in a different room. I have called tech support a few times and they reset it or say they can't see issues, but it's very frustrating to pause something for maybe maximum 30 min and it jumps to live, or says I have too many tvs being watched when nothing is recorded/no other tv is on... I have only been having constant issues since I upgraded to the optik line last fall between my pvr not working properly and moving it, to now the wireless optik box also having issues. I've even unplugged the blue tooth wireless subwoofer to stop any interfering frequency and it hasn't fixed the issue.3.8KViews0likes0CommentsRe: Sound bar and wireless sub causing issues with Telus wireless 4K
I have had a lot contact with Telus, and now been working with an escalation manager, and doing testing for over a month with different set ups and different sound bars and it's been frustrating. But still not sure what the answer is to solve the problem and if I need another wifi box that will work better with a LG sound bar? Is there a telus wifi 4k box that will work and not have issues with a sound bar and bluetooth sub woofer? It's very frustrating continue to have instability with pausing shows or interference with tv. I have been with Telus for a very long time and don't want to have to switch to try a different provider in order to use my set up. I had a PVR in the same room but it was moved by a telus tech and now connected to my modem in a different room so I don't have any other option to watch tv. Hi I’ve been having ongoing issues for months and while working with Telus I think the issue is frequency affecting a wireless 4K tv box. I have tried multiple boxes and different sound bars, but when using both my optik tv is constantly interrupted and cannot pause for long periods or it jumps to live (when and after being paused) along with other weird messaging around other boxes being used when they’re not. I don’t have an option to use the pvr box in the same place… how to fix this? Can I change something about the wifi frequency? It’s very frustrating to pause a show and come back to watch and it skips ahead, missing a a chunk of it then unable to rewind. Any advice for a sound bar and wifi 4K box to work together? Since updating my TV Optik equipment last fall (Sept/Oct) with the fiber optik upgrade and needing new equipment to access Netflix I've had nothing but problems. Boxes freezing up, locking up or distorted quality of image. I've gone through many replacements for both the PVR and now wireless box. As well as had multiple technicians come in to fix the issue, moving the equipment to different tv's and cable plug ins. My PVR is now connected to the modem while the wireless box is plugged in to the main TV. I just had my wireless optik box replaced and the same issue has continued. I don't have an internet issue as my wifi fine. I also have just been given a new PVR box prior to fix the wireless box issue, and a new wireless box again and the issue persists. Why when I pause something now on tv it maybe pauses for a few minutes then a pop up box shows up saying it needs to jump to live tv and does so on it's own... Telus website says it should be able to pause for up to 90 min and I never had an issue until I've received the upgrade/updates. This is constant and very very annoying as I miss shows.. also if I pause and hit play, not too long after I still get a pop up saying it's going to live tv. Other pop ups include not being able to pause for a few min when a channel is changed, or that too many tvs are in use (which they are not) or other recordings (which aren't happening). Also changes in rewinding and FF live tv seems different. It's just been beyond frustrating to not get a box that hasn't had an issue or is this just an issue with telus going forward and boxes that are poorly made? I'm debating switching companies because going forward I don't know how many boxes I'll get that seem to have this issue. I don't want to be watching something and pause for some time just to lose it all for it to skip shows or sports, especially if it is constantly inconsistent or not functioning how it's supposed to. Can I please get some support to understand why I've had multiple boxes that seem to always have issues and technicians out that say there are no background issues and get given replacements that never seem to be better?5.6KViews1like5Comments
