I have had the similar problem after switched to Telus pure fiber. I have a network switch connects to the optic modem. Replaced the switch but the issue still persist. The only solution I have found is to factory reset the optic modem. But it will only last for 2 - 7 days then the issue will come back again. I have the same issue here, but not by downloading large files. The wired devices would lost internet and would never recover back, the only solution is to hard reset the optic modem. I've phoned the Telus and they claimed that they hard reset the modem remotely, it had been stable for 4 days and then the problem came back again. If I chose to hard reset the modem by myself via the modem's admin console, it would work for a couple hours up to a day then the issue would come back again. I'm not from Telus but yes you can connect both of your computers to the network sockets on the optical modem. I have plugged 4 cables and they have been able to talk to each other just like they were in the intranet. A quick update: I called Telus support, and the technician on the phone was very helpful. Hello, This is very frustrating, that the optical moderm will disconnect the ethernet devices every 60 minutes. Then will not resume the connection unless hard reset the moderm. Is it a faulty moderm or Telus has backdoored my moderm or something? Symton: 1. Hard reset the moderm. NH20T 2. Connect a computer via the cable plugged directly to any of sockets on the moderm. 3. After 60 minutes exact, the network will be disconnected. 4. Will not reconnect unless hard reset the moderm again 5. All 3 computers are having the same issue. 6.
