Telus did the same thing to me about a week ago. Took a while to finally figure out why home assistant and my vpn and other services stopped working. I was pulling out my hair. Anyways, I’m on my second Telus rep now. The first put me on hold without explanation and after 20 minutes I hung up and called again. The second tech tried telling me to call another company because my account was hacked and my internet was moved to the 3rd party provider cgnet… i told her this is absolutely a Telus issue and I wanted to speak to a supervisor. 30 minutes later I’m still on hold. Eventually i showed her this forum she said she now understands what’s wrong and she’ll transfer me to the correct department. I'm having the same issue. I spoke with two different people from tech support from Telus and they both had no idea what a DNS server was and even after I explained it they said they weren't sure how to fix it. (They sent me to Port Forwarding page, and then DHCP reservations, parental controls etc.) Interestingly, changing the WAN DNS server worked... but not to my pihole, only to cloudflair (since my pihole is on the LAN, not the WAN... obviously).
