PVR screwing up
Anybody else have this problem? Since last summer, my PVR has been progressively worse at recording my programmed events. It's hit or miss, but the problems really started getting worse last fall. The recorded show would start to play, then the image would freeze, sound would stop, and then it would come back, 10 seconds later, with missed program. Since the beginning of the year, it has gotten worse. The recorded show would start and then a couple minutes after watching, the show would end. Essentially missing 50+ minutes of the hour long show. I would try fast forwarding and then the playback would stop, looking like I've watched the whole show. To try and solve the problem, I would reboot the PVR, through soft ware, or, pull the plug. Usually, I would reboot the router. Sometimes it would be fine, other times, not. Finally an overseas tech found that my PVR didn't have a necessary update to it's firmware/software. He initialised the update. Then, a couple nights ago, we watched 38 minutes of a show and it ground to a halt. Any ideas would be appreciated. And yes, I can still surf the web and all that.80Views0likes1CommentGoogle Mail server JUNK mail
What is with the sudden rash of Junk mail? I knew there was going to be trouble when Telus switched to Google Mail as the host server. Sure Google is around the world, but at what cost to the user? Makes me think of these comments / questions... 1. A rash of junk mail 2. when interfacing with Mac mail, likes to create folders that I don't want / need, such as Archive. How and where do you find a way to turn of the archiving 3. Filtering (aka: Rules) - how do you set up rules with Google mail, so junk from Jolene Osbourne won't even download to my mail software on my Mac. 4. Is this really just a way for Telus to make more money by causing the end user (it's own customers), to use more DATA by going out of the Telus network to retrieve mail? 5. what happened to - or how does one manage their aliases? The first alias that I gave to the Telus tech that contacted me, before the switch, is the alias that gets the most junk mail. Thank GOD I didn't give my most common alias to him.
