Re: 2 year term agreement
I don't know about the app, but you can view your service agreement any time via logging into your account: https://www.telus.com/my-telus/my-profile/agreements (log in > Billing > scroll to the very bottom of the page and there is a text link) I called to renew today and was not sent a PDF, either.1.4KViews0likes0CommentsRe: Windows live 2012
Running Win10 here, until work software I need won't run on it anymore 😀. Unlike most people, I don't care about security updates. I was running Win7 up until a year or two ago, with no security compromises, and only installed patches dated up until 2012 (I think that was the latest I installed). I wouldn't recommend this for most people, though. I've never needed the full Outlook, so never used it. And until I installed Win10, I was using Winmail, which I prefer over Livemail. I tried installing Winmail on Win10, using the tutorial on EightForums (or one of those forums), but I couldn't get it to work. I actually almost switched to (and older version of) Thunderbird, but luckily found this thread!12KViews0likes0CommentsRe: Export email folders out of Telus email.
WLM = Windows Livemail? Do you have tons of folders? If not, and you don't mind recreating the folder structure manually, you can: - Add the new (Gmail?) IMAP account to Livemail. - Drag and drop emails from old account to new account1.5KViews0likes0CommentsRe: Windows live 2012
Thanks to everyone, especially to FuzzyLogic. I had the same problem: Livemail abruptly stopped working with a user/password error. It would have been nice if Google or Telus gave us a heads-up. It seems this "two-factor + app password" has replaced the "less secure app" option, since that setting has disappeared after setting up 2fa+app-pw. Yes, I'm still using Livemail because I prefer it over other email clients. Thunderbird would be okay if it weren't such a RAM-hog. I'm not against updating, but it seems like each Microsoft email client gets worse and worse. If I could still use Outlook Express, I would 😀.12KViews0likes0CommentsRe: Gmail Migration - New Support Content
ISPs generally don't support third-party apps. Telus' page has the server information that you need. Do yourself a favour and learn how to fill in the settings for whichever email client you use, so you're not blaming everyone but yourself next time.17KViews0likes1CommentRe: FibreOptic Service
The ONT has an RJ45 out port. This will connect to your house's main copper wire telephone box, which is how the old copper phone jacks throughout your house gets connected. You won't need to rewire all the phone jacks in your house. There's a labelled photo in another thread that explains the wiring: https://forum.telus.com/t5/Internet-Home-Phone/Structured-cabling-for-fibre-and-home-phone/td-p/106683?lightbox-message-images-106713=10414iD4C87C6C5A89F19C "Phone line exiting house" is the cable that goes (back) to the main phone box. The only wiring involved will be: - bringing the optical cable into the house and connecting it to the ONT - connecting the ONT to your main phone box, via copper wire11KViews0likes0Comments- 11KViews0likes0Comments
Re: Port Forwarding on Telus WiFi Hub
I heard it was different with fibre, but with DSL (at least, my DSL connection), Telus does some weird thing with my IP(s). The Actiontec gateway has a WAN IP of 100.xxx.xxx.xxx, but if Igo to WhatsMyIP, it is reported as 209.xxx.xxx.xxx. I have my own router connected via Bridge Mode, and it is the same: 100.xxx.xxx.xxx, but reported as 209.xxx.xxx.xxx. I guess a workaround is if you get some Dynamic DNS service to point to your WAN IP, but it won't work for some things.22KViews0likes0Comments
